Two Drown in Okanogan
Lillian Lee and Willis Link Go Beyond Depth
OKANOGAN, Wash., July 2, — Lillian Lee, 19, and Willis Link, 23, drowned this evening at Shellrock point in the Okanogan river, midway between Okanogan and Omak. They were members of a swimming party given by the Christian Endeavor as a farewell to Miss Mabel Simmons and Miss Mabel Haley. They stepped from shallow water into deep water and neither could swim. Several of the party had swam across the river and were unable to return before the two sank. After dragging and diving with searchlights for more than two hours the girl’s body was recovered. Miss Lee was the daughter of E.H. Lee. W.D. Link is the boy’s father. Both sets of parents are orchardists living near Omak. | LEE, Lillian Clarece (I266)
