20293 The funeral for Kenneth O. Estrem of Cannon Falls, formerly of Kenyon and Wanamingo, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vang Lutheran Church in rural Dennison, with the Revs. Gerry Gengenbach and Michael Lockerby co-officiating. Burial will be in Vang Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Estrem, 67, died Thursday (Dec. 15, 1994) at Cannon Falls Hospital due to injuries from a car accident near Cannon Falls.

He was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Holden Township. A veteran of the Navy in World War II, he served as a fireman first class on the USS Fletcher. Mr. Estrem lived in Kenyon from 1955 to 1971 where he was a baker with Kenyon Bakery. For many years he was a masonry craftsman in the Kenyon area. He moved to Wanamingo in 1971 and lived there until 1993. He was a self-employed entrepreneur and had a great love for traveling, gardening and woodworking. He also worked for a time as an over-the-road trucker. He moved to Cannon Falls in 1993.

He is survived by five daughters, Carol Ferguson of Wanamingo, Chris (Mrs. Craig) Bowen of Rochester, Sheila (Mrs. Gregg) Kageyama of Honolulu; Julie (Mrs. Kirk) Johnson of Owatonna and Brenda (Mrs. Wayne) Thompson of Goodhue; three sons, Mark and Brian, both of Wanamingo, and Kevin of Omaha, Neb.; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Lowell of Kenyon and Donnie of Dennison, and two sisters, Ann Marie Erickson of Rochester and Betty Knivsland of North St. Paul. He also is survived by two former wives, Colleen Gunderson of Kenyon and Beulah Estrem of Wanamingo. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

20294 The funeral for Marguerite "Marge" Jorgenson, of Starbuck, Minnesota will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck, with Reverend Paul Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Starbuck Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Fron Lutheran Cemetery, Starbuck.

Marguerite Ann Jorgenson was born on February 3, 1936, in Glenwood, Minnesota to Olaf Even and Helen Violet (Thoren) Ellingboe. Marge was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She grew up in the Glenwood area until age nine; when she moved to Rolling Forks Township, Minnesota, where she lived and was raised by her Uncle and Aunt, Russel and Margaret Davidson. Marge attended school in Glenwood, graduating with the Glenwood High School, Class of 1954. After her graduation, she met and was married to LuVerne O. Jorgenson on June 30, 1956 at Chippewa Lutheran Church in Rolling Forks Township. Following their marriage, they made their home in Starbuck, Minnesota. To this union, four children were born: LuAnn, Carol, Mary and Paul. Marge worked at the Nodland's Cafe in Starbuck and later at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck as a cook. She worked at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home for 27 years before taking an early retirement to care for LuVerne. LuVerne preceded her in death on February 22, 2001. After his death, she continued to live at their home in Starbuck until her death on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 21 days.

Marge enjoyed baking, embroidery, reading romance novels and doing word search puzzles. She and LuVerne enjoyed their trips to the casino and camping. In later years, Marge looked forward to her bi-annual casino trips with Carol and her annual trips with LuAnn to Wal-Mart to "stock up for winter." She was content to be home and looked forward to spending time with her family.

Marge is survived by her children: LuAnn (Daniel) Moen of Glenwood, Carol (Roger) Moen of Glenwood, Mary (Wayne) Snow of Laurens, Iowa and Paul (Laurie) Jorgenson of Isanti, Minnesota; grandchildren: Jeremy (Shelly) Moen, Jason (Jolene) Moen, Jamie (Chris) Boelke, Amber (Travis) Zemke, Tracy (Logan) Dove, Amanda Moen-Lee, Kelly (Matt) Tate, Kayla (Toby) Graff, Jason (Sarah) Kluenenberg and Josh Olsen; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Vernon and Esther Jergerson of Starbuck, Earl Ihnen of Glenwood, Emily Ellingboe of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Eileen Ellingboe of Shakopee, Minnesota and JoAnne Ellingboe of Robinsdale, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. Marge is preceded in death by her husband, LuVerne; granddaughter, Jodie L. Moen; brothers: Charles, Richard and Clarence Ellingboe.

20295 The funeral service for Wilbert “Bill” Harvey Pagel will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea veterans organizations.

Bill died on Monday, May 1, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. He was 83 years old.

Bill was born in Brisbane, N.D., on July 9, 1922, the son of Richard and Ida (Miller) Pagel. He attended high school in Brisbane, N.D. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-46. He grew up in North Dakota and later had lived in Duluth and in Albert Lea since the 1950s.

On Dec. 3, 1977, Bill was united in marriage with Lucille Hautt Harkner at Our Saviors Lutheran
Church, Albert Lea.

Bill had worked as a truck driver for Wilson & Co. for many years and part time for area farmers and had torn down houses. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW and American Legion and was a member of the honor guard. He enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, camping, old time dancing and he was an avid Twins fan.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lucille of Albert Lea; 11 children: Jerry Pagel, Judy Ozturk, Richard Pagel, Nancy Sather, David Pagel, Timothy Pagel, John Pagel, Mark Pagel, Doug Pagel, Mary Stevens, Sandy Holms; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six step children: Deanne (Steve) Adams, Kathy Sickels, Richard (Bonnie) Harkner, Robert (Sheleen) Harkner, Cindy (Mark) Miranda, Michael Harkner; and many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Susan; one brother, Clarence Pagel; step sister; step son-in-law, Ray Sickels; step grandson, Dale Sickels.

Mrs. Irma Ellingboe, 408 Fourth Street, Neenah, formerly of Manitowoc, age 86, died Monday evening following a lingering illness. She was born May 28, 1887, in the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County. Mrs. Ellingboe was a resident of Manitowoc most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Her husband, Christopher, preceded her in death in 1953. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Thompson, New York, N.Y., and Mrs. Lucile Daigle, of Neenah, a son, John, Milwaukee, a sister, Sister Vivian Geimer, OSF, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kessler Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.

According to the birth certificate information for his daughter Phyllis, he was Mario William Lehto, born in 1910 in Milltown, Montana. He and Myrtle lived in Biwabik at the time of Phyllis’s birth, at which time he was a common laborer. If he was 23 years old at the time of Phyllis’s birth, he may have been the William Lehto, age 20, son of Gust and Amanda Lehto of Embarrass, Minnesota, in the 1930 census. That William worked in a saw mill at the time of the census. William was shown as age 20 at the time of Nancy Lou’s birth in April of 1931.

He is not the person of 1936-MN-012094 or 1953-MN-001882.

In the 1943 Wichita city directory, he is Waino W Lehto. He is a plasterer for Beechcraft. He and Myrtle live at 1512 N Volutsia.

In the 1954 Wichita city directory, he is W W Lehto. He and Myrtle live at 5154 E Harry. He is a plasterer, she is an employee of Wesley Hospital.

In the 1955 Wichita city directory, the only Lehto listed is Myrtle at 5154 E Harry.

A Waino W Lehto, b. 23 Jun 1910, died 15 Apr 1992, last residence Stanton, Orange County, California. He is buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery. According to the California death index, he was born in Montana to a mother whose maiden name was Koski. His SS# had been issued in Minnesota. He had served as a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy in World War II.
