In the 1948 Tucson city directory, she is a student living at 1128 E Elm with her mother and siblings.

In the 1950 census, she lives with her mother and is an office assistant at a state university.

REINECKE, Mary Lois (Ellingboe), 66, of Tucson, died August 19, 1994. Mrs. Reinecke received her B.S. in Business Administration and Master in Education from the University of Arizona. She taught Business Education at Amphitheater High School for 19 years, and retired as Department Chairwoman. She also was a volunteer instructor in the Literacy Program Adult County Probation Department, and a regular Red Cross blood donor. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Delta Kappa Gamma and Nu Chapter. She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Edwin Reinecke. She is survived by daughters, Cynthia (William) Harding of Gainesville, FL, and Wendy (Todd) Prynn of Phoenix; grandson, Tanner Andrew Prynn; sisters, Martha Stevenson of CA, Jane (Charles) Reynolds of WA; and brother, Jules (Melinda) of CA.

Shown as Victor J. Elestad, single and 22, at the time of the 1910 census. Living in Dunn County, North Dakota, on a farm nearby or adjacent to the farm of Thomas Elestad. Victor’s farm is shown as Section 14 or 19. (See notes for Ole.)

Not listed in the draft registrations for WWI.

By the 1920 census, Victor, now 31, had married Lena, 27. They were still living on a farm in Dunn County, North Dakota. They had three children, all born in N. Dakota.

By the time of the 1930 census (April 11th), Victor and his family had moved to North La Connor Precinct, Skagit County, Washington. (Victor’s brother had moved to Skagit County as well. See notes on Thomas.) The family consisted of Victor, 42, Lena, 38, Inez, 14, Edna, 13, Orville, 11, Everett, 9, and Virgil, 3 and 3 months. Virgil had been born in Washington; the other children in North Dakota. Also living with the family was Lena’s mother, Christine Larson, 76, a widow first married at age 20 and who came to this country in 1873. Victor and Lena had married when they were 26 and 22, respectively.

He registered for the World War II draft in 1942. At that time, he lived at Route 4, Mount Vernon, Washington. He gave as his “person who will always know your address” Mr. John Larson of Route 4, Mount Vernon. Victor was a self-employed farmer.

In the 1930 census, he is living in Minneapolis with his sister Emma Mae and her husband Rhodes Peterson and her children, as well as William’s and Emma Mae’s father Arthur and his new wife Evelyn. William was single and was delivery man for a shade and window company.

In the 1940 census, he and Dorothy lived in Minneapolis at 1815 1st Avenue S. He had been educated through the seventh grade, Dorothy was a high school graduate. William was the manager of an automobile garage. Dorothy was a clerk for the Board of Education. William made $700 the previous year, Dorothy made $1100.

In the 1948 Minneapolis city directory, he and Dorothy lived at 2222 Nicollet, apartment 4. He was an auto mechanic.

In the 1911 Faribault city directory, which includes Northfield, Adolph is a clerk for Ellingboe Brothers and boards at 614 St. Olaf Avenue.

In the 1913 Faribault city directory, which includes Northfield, Adolph is a clerk for Elllingboe Bros. He lived at 504 S Division.

In the 1915 Faribault city directory, which includes Northfield, Adolph is a clerk for Eltun & Ellingboe Bros. He lives at 115 E 6th.

Registered for the draft as Adolph Ellingboe in Northfield on June 5th. He shows his birthdate as July 30, 1892, and his birthplace as Northfield. He is married with a family and lives at 319 North 3rd in Northfield. His occupation is mechanic with W.R. Collins of Northfield. He is described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair.

He is Adolph Ellingboe, 27, in the 1920 census. The family was living in St. Paul where Adolph is a manager in a garage. The household consists of Elizabeth, 27, Mercedes, 7, Marie, 6, Marjory, 4 and some months, and Elizabeth’s brother, Max Rech, 25, who is also a manager in a garage.

In the 1920 St. Paul city directory, he is Adolph Elingboe, mechanic at the Como & Dale Garage. He lives at 616 Como Avenue.

The 1921 Rice County directory has an entry for Adolph: “moved to St. Paul.”

In the 1922 St. Paul city directory, he is a mechanic living at 612 Canada.

In the 1923 St. Paul city directory, he is a clerk for Lindeke Warner & Sons. He lives at 260 E 6th.

In the 1924 St. Paul directory, he is still a clerk for Lindeke Warner & Sons but his address is now 258 E 6th.

In the 1925 St. Paul directory, he is a clerk living at 49 W Exchange.

In the 1926 St. Paul directory, he is a clerk for his brother Martin’s Globe Apparel Shop. His wife is a clerk there as well. However, Mrs. Elizabeth Ellingboe is shown as living at 49 W Exchange and Adolph is shown as living at 1484 Breda.

In the 1927 St. Paul directory, he is a clerk for Globe and his wife is a seamstress for Globe. Both live at 1484 Breda.

In the 1929 St. Paul directory, he is a salesman for Globe and his wife does alterations. He and Liz live at 1186 Seminary.

In the 1930 census, Adolph and his family are still in St. Paul but he is now a salesman of retail clothing (as is his wife). He is probably in business with his brothers Tom and Joel.

In the 1931 St. Paul city directory, Adolph and Elizabeth live at 1186 Seminary. Adolph is a salesman.

In the 1933 St. Paul city directory, Adolph is a salesman. He and Liz live at 1503 Roblyn Avenue.

In the 1935 St. Paul city directory, Adolph is a salesman. He and Liz live at 1503 Roblyn Ave.

In the 1937 St. Paul city directory, Adolph is a salesman. He and Liz live at 1439 Grand Avenue, apartment 6.

In the 1941 St. Paul city directory, Adolph and Eliz H live at 535 Marshall Avenue, apartment C. He has no occupation listed. Liz works for Gately Clothing.

Shown as “Ealvis”, age 11 and his birth year as 1890 in the 1900 census. The birth year of 1889 is consistent with his death certificate.

Registered for the draft on June 5th as Richard Alvin. He gave his home address as Merrian Park, St. Paul. He was single and worked as a machinist for the Stahl Manufacturing Company of 903 17th Avenue S.E. in Minneapolis. He claimed to have a mother and (presumably her) two children relying on him for their support. He was described as of medium height and build with brown eyes and brown hair. The list of disabilities indicated that he had lost his right thumb.

The Inderøy church records show an unmarried Anton Andreasson Nes, born 1860, dying in Inderøy on 3 Jan 1878.

Came to the U.S. in around 1881 according to Nina. May have travelled with his sister Grete.

An Anton Ness, age 45, born in Norway, is a woods laborer (logger) at a logging camp in Oneida County, Wisconsin, in that state’s 1905 census.

It is, presumably, that Anton Ness, who was granted naturalization papers in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, on 7 Mar 1911, according to an article in The New North.

Living with her aunt, Mary Dietl, her grandmother, Louise Dietl, and her brother, Edward E. Larson, at 326 East 52nd Street, Portland, Oregon, at the time of the 1930 census. Gretchen was a stenographer in the wholesale hardware industry and was the only person in the household who was employed.

She was Gretchen Atkinson when she married Lloyd M Janz.

She was Mrs. Gretchen L Atkinson in the 1955 Portland, Oregon, city directory.

Living with his aunt, Mary Dietl, his grandmother, Louise Dietl, and his sister, Gretchen Larson, at 326 East 52nd Street, Portland, Oregon, at the time of the 1930 census.

In the 1940 census, he was Edward E Larson, 23, single, living in Portland at 1724 S E 52nd Avenue with his grandmother Louise Dietl and his aunt Mary Dietl. That is the same house at which they all lived in 1935. Edward is a cashier for a parcel delivery company. He was a high school graduate.

Because his gravestone is similar to that of Mary Dietl, we can reasonably infer that he is the Edward E Larson, 1916-1967, buried in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon. According to the Oregon Death Index, that Edward died on 14 Apr 1967 and his wife was Florence. According to the SSDI, that Edward was born on 29 Sep 1916.
