Delmar R. Ellingboe, age 83 of Baldwin and formerly of Spring Valley, died the morning of Monday, January 4, 2016 at home, with his wife by his side. Delmar was born December 2, 1932 in Benson MN, the son of Robert E. and Lillie (nee Breckken) Ellingboe. He graduated from Benson High School, and later enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country during the Korean War. Delmar was united in marriage to Marlene Watembach on July 31, 1954. Their union in marriage would be blessed with seven children.
Delmar worked in the computer industry much of his life until his retirement. In his retirement, he worked for the Corp of Engineers in both St Paul and Spring Valley, and also volunteered at the Senior Center in Baldwin WI. He enjoyed farming, camping, canoeing, woodworking, the outdoors, collecting miniature cars, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Wilson American Legion Post #330.
Delmar was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene; his sister Ardis Marquart; his children, Dana Ellingboe of Chippewa Falls WI, Jeff (Mary Beth) Ellingboe of Minneapolis MN, Kathy Palmer of Spring Valley WI, Rob (Laurie) Ellingboe of Wilson WI, Greg (Andrea) Ellingboe of Eau Claire WI, Jackie (CJ) Hunter of Chandler AZ, and Eric (Heidi) Ellingboe of Dubuque IA; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial for Delmar Ellingboe will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 105 Sabin Avenue in Spring Valley WI, with Rev. Fr. Prince Raja officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church, and also from 3:00-6:00pm on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin WI. A Prayer Service will conclude the evening at 6:00pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Delmar may be directed to the Fisher House Foundation, which serves veterans and military families at VA Medical Centers nationwide. | ELLINGBOE, Delmar Robert (I5694)

In the 1930 census, he is the head of household but he is still single. Living with him are his parents and his brothers. They live in Fergus Falls, just one house away from Joe and Effie.
In the 1935/36 Fergus Falls city directory, he is a laborer and lives at 724 Railroad with his mother. Same in the 1937/38 Fergus Falls city directory. In the 1939/40 Fergus Falls city directory, Henry has married Thora and they live at 406 Vasa Avenue West. He is a mechanic at the Ben Kilde Motor Co.
His birthdate on his death certificate is April 6th. At the time of his death he was married and living at 721 Rosemary, Fergus Falls. The informant was Harry Hultman.
