Vera Irene Carlson Holman, 69, a longtime Kamiah resident, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital at Cottonwood from complications of emphysema.
She was born Sept. 13, 1929, to M.E. and Mildred Nielsen Carlson of Valier, Mont.
She graduated from high school in Polson, Mont., in 1947. She attended beauty school in Spokane in the late 1940s.
She married Joe Holman on Sept. 12, 1951, in Missoula, Mont. They lived in various cities in the Northwest while he worked on construction projects.
They settled in Kamiah in 1971.
Her family was the most important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband at Kamiah; two sons, Larry Holman of Kamiah and Tom Holman of Clarkston; two daughters, Cheryl and Patti Holman, both of Boise; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Blessinger of Las Vegas; and a brother, John Carlson of Phoenix.
