Jan Johansson says that Emibas has her getting permission to leave Sweden (from Gustafsberg, Värmdö, Stockholms län (Uppland)) on 26 April 1882 and actually leaving the country for New York on 12 May 1882. She is shown as unmarried. She and her two daughters, Anna and Astrid, left Sweden the second time on 25 June 1886. The embarkation point was Göteborg both times.

In the 1905 state census, she and her family lived in Pike Creek Twp next to Sophia Peterson and her two children. Still living at home with Anna was Esther, 20, a domestic. The remainder of the children must have been listed on the back of the page, on a page that is missing, or were otherwise unrecorded.

The 1900 census reports that she had borne 8 children, all 8 still living. The 1910 census said only 7 still living. Harry, Herman, and Ethel were listed at home in 1910.

She was living in Minneapolis with her daughter Anna and Anna’s husband, as well as her daughter Ethel, at the time of the 1920 census.

Anna is living in Pike Creek Twp, Morrison County, in the 1930 census. Her widowed daughter Anna McCollem is living with her. Neither woman has an occupation.

In the 1927 Willmar city directory, she is Anna Ellingboe, widow of Martin, living at 1214 Gorton Avenue.

In the 1929 directory, she was still at 1214 Gorton Ave.

In the 1930 census, she lives at 1214 Gorton Avenue in Willmar with her daughters Lillian abnd Adelle, her son Marvin, and a 58 year-old roomer named John Birkeland, a carpenter. Anna has no occupation. Lillian is a waitress at a hotel.

In the 1932 Willmar city directory, she is Anna Ellingboe, widow of Martin, living at 211 8th N.

She is probably the Anna Ellingboe who married Peter Amundson in Kandiyohi County on 28 August 1949.

Her maiden name is shown as Amundson in the death index entry for her daughter Adell.

In the 1920 census, she and her husband Tollef live in Franklin Twp, Vernon County, just down the census page from the Albert Ekum family. Tollef and Ingeborg are shown as having come to the U.S. in 1884.

In the 1940 census, as the widow Ingebor Severson, she lives with her sister Anna in Soldiers Grove.

An Ingeborg Severson, b. 1855 but with no death date, is buried in North Kickapoo Lutheran Cemetery, sharing the same gravestone as Tollef Severson, 1857-1936.

Her birth certificate was filed on January 8, 1914. Her birth was a single birth. Her father was the 44 year-old farmer, Charles Oakman, born in Sweden. Her mother was the 30 year-old housewife, Mathilda Lundberg, also born in Sweden and whose “usual residence” was Minnesota.

Her name is spelled La Verne on her gravestone.

In the 1940 census, she is married to William England. The couple lives in a rented house in Portland, Oregon, but they lived in Salem in 1935. William has four years of college, La Vern has one. William is a laborer working for a contractor. They have no children.
