In the 1940 census, she is a high school senior living with her father, aunt, and grandfather at 715 Court Street in Fergus Falls.

She was legitimate, child #1 on her birth certificate. Her name was amended to Harriette on February 1st, 1943.

In the 1953 Fergus Falls city directory, she was a waitress at the Lincoln Cafe and lived with her father and aunt at 715 S Court.

She was Harrietta Eldon Torvik, 31, in the announcement of her marriage license in the October 10, 1953, edition of the FFDJ.

As Mrs. Henriette Johnson of Fergus Falls, she was the informant for her aunt Olga’s death certificate in 1966.

As Mrs. Julian Johnson, she was the informant for her father’s death certificate in 1975.

As Harriette Johnson of 1421 S. Maybelle in Fergus Falls, she was the informant for her mother’s death certificate in 1994.

Survived her niece Suzan K Smith (neé Garberg) who died 24 May 2007. Suzan was the daughter of Julian Johnson’s sister Jean.

Harriette Johnson, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born May 13, 1922, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Edwin and Hildred (Larson) Torvik.  She grew up in Fergus Falls and was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from Fergus Falls High School.

She worked as a waitress and during World War II she was employed at Northwest Airlines in St. Paul.

In the late 1950s, Harriette worked at Madison Elementary School in Fergus Falls. In the late 1960s, she was employed by the Otter Tail County Treasure’s Office in Fergus Falls.

On Oct. 17, 1953, she married Julian L. Johnson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Harriette was raised in a Norwegian speaking home and could speak it fluently. She always embraced her Scandinavian heritage.

She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Harriette really enjoyed making cards and donating them to local nursing homes. She especially liked the cards she made that had cute animals and funny cartoons on them, since she had a special love for cats, dogs and animals of all kinds.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Julian.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Dorie) of Pine City and Kent (Kristin) of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher) Larson of Minneapolis, Tony Johnson of Woodbury, Elisabeth (Kyle) Barlow of Omaha, Neb., Emma Johnson of Minneapolis, Molly Johnson of St. Joseph; and sister, Carol Falk of Minneapolis.

She was still married to Oscar Ellingboe at the time of his death in Milwaukee although, according to his obit, she was living in Erie, Pennsylvania at the time.

Mabel Magay Ellingboe, b. 11 Feb 1882 in Massachusetts, died 6 Jun 1963 in Lawrence, Erie County, Pennsylvania. Her spouse had been Oscar Ellingboe. Her parents were Arthur P Dennen and Annie Tucker.
