She survived her brother Harold and lived in Rothsay at the time of his death.
Clarice Hazel Nord, 85, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Rothsay, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born on June 26, 1928, in Oscar Township, the daughter of Carl and Hannah (Baglien) Lerbakken. Clarice was baptized and confirmed at Hedemarken Lutheran Church in Rothsay and attended country school in rural Elizabeth.
On Dec. 30, 1950, she married Harley Gerald Nord at the Rothsay parsonage. They were the parents of four children, Carol, Clayton, Pam and Dave.
Clarice was a homemaker to her family and also worked at the Rothsay Truck Stop. Harley and Clarice were united in marriage for 62 years.
Her interests included gardening, cooking, baking which included her tasty lefse and Norwegian treats, and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Clarice was a faithful caregiver to her parents and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with family.
She loved to walk down to the Rothsay Truck Stop sometimes twice a day for coffee and a donut. Clarice was a lifetime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Rothsay.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 62 years, Harley; sisters, Calma, Myrtle, Alice and Helen; and brothers, Norris, Herbert, Norris Albin and Harold.
Clarice is survived by four children, Carol Dupree of Rothsay, Clayton (fiancé Teresa Harper) Nord of Fergus Falls, Pam (Lanny) Carlsrud of Fergus Falls and Dave Nord of Rothsay; a sister, Evelyn Toso; 11 grandchildren, Michelle (Bobby), Charlie (Tamber), Chris, Eric (Nikki), Christa (Jarod), Larisa (TJ), Jeremy (Kari), Brooke (Shilo), Kellsey, Kendra and Lucas; 11 great-grandchildren, Asher, Ben, Kenadi, Grace, Rhen, Aiden, Zach, Thomas, Jaxon, Vaela and Kruz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and a host of friends. | LERBAKKEN, Clarice Hazel (I10542)

Verda Marie Iverson Ellsaesser, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Montrose, S.D., to Iver and Ida Larson Iverson.
On April 20, 1945, she married Harley C. Ellsaesser. He died in December 2007. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ronald.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kraber of Guymon, Okla., and Nancy Riney of Pinehurst, N.C.; two sons, Larry Ellsaesser of Springfield, Mo., and Gary Ellsaesser of Hugoton; 18 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 11 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hugoton. A private burial took place Wednesday at Hugoton Cemetery. | IVERSON, Verda M (I16055)
