Rod died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017.

He was born July 9, 1956, in Polson, Mont., to Monte and Joyce (Carlson) Perry. He spent his early years in Elk River, Boise and Kamiah. He attended Kamiah High School and later North Idaho College at Coeur d'Alene.

In 1973 he joined the U.S. Air Force, working as an aircraft crew chief. After his discharge he returned to Idaho, where he worked various jobs as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. He worked for Veco Cyprus LTD, working in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, as an off-road heavy haul truck driver, transferring to heavy equipment mechanic. In 2004, he transferred to Veco International Inc. and worked in Sakhalin Island, Russia, as a heavy equipment mechanic, welder and fabricator.

He returned to the U.S. in 2007 and started working in the oil fields of North Dakota in 2009 as a heavy haul truck driver and later equipment and truck mechanic. While in North Dakota, Rod married the love of his life, Shannon (Dolph) Perry. They returned to Kamiah, where Rod was employed as a truck driver.

Rod lived and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson. He had planned to start building motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon; daughter Alicia Bolling (OJ); granddaughter Keely of Spokane; stepdaughter Denise (Jon) Schuh; grandson Andy; granddaughter Charlotte of Connell, Wash.; brother Calvin (Terese) Perry of Seward, Alaska; sister Del Rae (Bill) Hendren of Mead, Wash.; sister Donna Woods of Buhl, Idaho; and last but not least, his cat, Boner, of Kamiah.

He and Agnes moved to Willmar in 1993. They sold their 40 acre farm with all of its goods at auction on 26 Sept 1993.

Rodney Louis Anderson, 76, Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, after a long struggle with cancer.

Rod was born in Barnesville, MN, on April 11, 1927, the son of Julian and Augusta (Larson) Anderson. He graduated from Fargo Central High School. He also graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1952.

He served one year in the Army in 1946. He retired from United Blood Services in 1992. Rod donated 33 gallons of blood in his lifetime.

Rod married Delores Westlund in 1953. She died in 1970.

He married Phyllis Nord in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Fargo; one daughter, Pamela, Moorhead, MN; two stepdaughters, Cindy (Bob) Lunneborg, Fargo, and Judy (Ron) Samshal, Moorhead; one sister, Beth (Rev. Charles) Bunnell, Chatsworth, CA; three brothers, Keith (Lauretta), Hilton Head Island, SC, Kenneth (Marian), Crookston, MN, and Dick, East Grand Forks, MN; and two step grandchildren.

Rod was preceded in death by his first wife, Delores; his parents, two brothers, and two infant sons.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in First Methodist Church, Fargo. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.

Roe, Audrey Helen (nee Hanson) Age 91, of Apple Valley; passed away peacefully on October 22. Treasured, beloved and dear wife, mother, grandmother, and special friend to many. Preceded in death by parents Augusta and Henry Hanson; brother Arthur Hanson; sister Harriet Hanson; grandson Ryan Olson. Survived by: loving husband of 70 years David K. Roe; daughters Judy Grudem, Nancy Holtz, Susie Olson;grandchildren David Grudem, Jerry (Jenni) Grudem, Kimberly Ellis, Jeff Grudem, Eric Hanson (Nikki Helland), Karen Hanson Bondi (Mark Bondi), Jen (Jake) Talarico, Sara (Mitchell) Nohrenberg, Jerry Olson; great-grandchildren Helena (Steven) Thate; Christine O'Hair, Ian Grudem, Justin and Jamie Grudem, Jerod, Jaylond and Javon Ellis, Willa and Thea Hanson, Keira, Siena, Conor and Taylor Bondi, Thomas, Ezra and Audrey Talarico, Samantha and Madison Nohrenberg; great-great-grandson Soren Thate; and many other relatives and friends. Audrey's greatest joy in life was her family, of which she was truly the heart. She lived life with amazing grace and courage, and left footprints on the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her. She will be missed beyond measure. Roe, David K. age 92, of Apple Valley; passed away peacefully on February 13, surrounded by family. Preceded in death recently by loving wife of 70 years, Audrey; parents Leona and Ole Roe; brother Marion R. Roe; sister Leola Grand; grandson Ryan Olson. Survived by daughters Judy Grudem, Nancy Holtz, and Susie Olson; grandchildren David Grudem, Jerry (Jenni) Grudem, Kimberly Ellis, Jeff Grudem, Eric Hanson (Nikki Helland), Karen Hanson Bondi (Mark Bondi), Jen (Jake) Talarico, Sara (Mitchell) Nohrenberg, Jerry Olson; great-grandchildren Helena (Steven) Thate; Christine O'Hair, Ian Grudem, Justin and Jamie Grudem, Jerod, Jaylond and Javon Ellis, Willa and Thea Hanson, Keira, Siena, Conor and Taylor Bondi, Thomas, Ezra and Audrey Talarico, Samantha and Madison Nohrenberg; great-great-grandson Soren Thate; brother, Richard L. Roe, and many other relatives and dear friends. Lovingly known as Boppa to his grandchildren, he always enjoyed time spent with family. Audrey was the love of his life and he missed her dearly. Dave attended public schools in Minneapolis and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII between 1942 and 1946. Upon discharge from the Navy, he joined the Lathers Union and was elected Business Agent in 1952. He represented the Minneapolis and State Building and Construction Trades Councils, and also served as a District Vice President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO and Vice President of the Minneapolis Central Labor Union Council. He was active in the DFL, ran for mayor of Minneapolis in 1961, and was a delegate to all Democratic National Conventions from 1960 - 1984. Dave was elected President of the Minnesota AFL-CIO in 1966, and led the labor movement in successful efforts to secure collective bargaining rights for public sector workers, OSHA, tip credit, equal rights for women and enacting Minnesota's first minimum wage. He was always working to make life better for others. Following his retirement in 1984, he continued his work on behalf of labor, most notably as the driving force behind creation of a Workers Memorial Garden on the State Capitol grounds. Dave also served on the Board of Regents for the University of Minnesota for 12 years, retiring from the Board in 1993. He served on numerous boards and commissions over the years, including his recent term on the Minnesota Racing Commission. Dave was also very proud of his membership in the American Legion, Bearcat Post #504, and served as its Commander until his passing. Special thanks to the Allina Hospice team and the staff at St. Gertrude's TCU for the loving care provided. We are forever grateful for all the kindness shown during his recent stay. Roed would have been the surname of her first husband. According to Soren K.’s obit, Sine was a sister of his first wife.

In the 1910 census, she is shown as having had 12 children, 10 still living, and six of whom were living with her and Soren, the youngest of which was 5 years old. She had come to the U.S. in 1909 and had been married to Soren Sorenson for 6 months.

She was called “Sing M”, age 62, in the 1930 census. She had come to the U.S. in 1909 and was first married at age 18.

Buried in the Colman Cemetery as Sine Roed Sorensen, 1867-1939.

Soren calls her Sine Nelsen in the census cards.

Roger A. Quamme, age 75 of rural Nerstrand passed away peacefully after a prolonged battle with cancer on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his home.

A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.

Roger Allen, the son of Henry and Anna (Soine) Quamme, was born June 22, 1934 in Nerstrand. In October of 1979, he married Carol Cramer in Northfield, and she preceded him in death on October 21, 2005. He retired from Hitchcock Industries, Bloomington, in 1999 after working there for 31 years as a smelter. Roger also farmed all of his life raising cattle, chickens and turkeys.

He is survived by ten children, Keith (and Christie) Quamme of Nerstrand, Kent Miller, Ames, IA, Kraig (and Teri) Quamme of Dundas, Konan Quamme of Mesa, AZ, Debra Quamme of Mesa, AZ, Kim Quamme of Chandler, AZ, Toni (and Ted) Paro of Northfield, Kenneth (and Carol) Cramer of Northfield, Becki LeMire of Circle Pines, and John (and Lynn) Cramer of Northfield; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and five siblings, Benard (and Jeanne) Quamme of Forest Lake, Hazel Anderson of Cannon Falls, Howard (and Georgia) Quamme of Nerstrand, Theoline (and Mike) Stoffregen of Windom, and Russell Quamme of Kenyon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; a daughter, Teresa Quamme; and a brother-in-law, Edsel Anderson.

Roger Dean Buchta, 67, of Holden Township, Goodhue County, died Monday (July 9, 2007) at Golden Living Center West in Rochester, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 27, 1940, at home in Holden Township.

He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1958. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965, including service in Korea in 1965. On Dec. 13, 1980, he married Suncha Mun. Mr. Buchta farmed with his brother, Larry, for most of his life. He had a great sense of humor, was an avid collector and enjoyed playing cards and cribbage and spending time with his nieces and nephews, whom he treated as his own children.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Larry (Shari) of Dennison, Minn., and Duane (Paulette) of Northfield, Minn.; and three sisters, Marlys Buchta of Montclair, Calif., Linda Grant of Carmen, Manitoba, Canada, and Nancy (Lloyd) Pleschourt of Northfield.

Roger Gale Sime, born October 19, 1929, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the age of 92. He was born to Herman and Grace (Helgerson) Sime and was the 6th of 10 children. Roger served in the Army, being stationed in Germany and he was extremely proud of his military service. He farmed all his life in Crawford County.

On July 2, 1960, Roger married the love of his life, Elaine Anderson, at Utica Lutheran Church and together they had three children: Alan, Barb, and Brian. Roger was a lifelong member of Utica Lutheran Church and was very involved in many church activities. He also served as Chairman of Town of Freeman and was on the Crawford Eastman Insurance Board.

Family meant everything to Roger.

Roger is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine; children: Alan (Sherrie) Sime, Barb (Gary) Emerson, and Brian (Tricia) Sime; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Geraldine Faerber, Janice Roberts, Mary Burton, John Sime, and Jim (Lila) Sime; and sister-in-law, Sandy Sime.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Kermit (Ginger) Sime, Herman (Alice) Sime, Clarabelle (Charlie) Horner, and Arlene (Ray) Deml; and his in-laws: Ken Faerber, Keith Roberts, Ken Burton, and Louise Sime.
