ELNA MARGARET EIDAL was born in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, WA on 10 November 1896. Her parents, CHRISTEN OLSEN EIDAL and SIGRID "Sadie" (DIGEN) EIDAL were both born in Norway who came to the American west and settled in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington Territory as pioneers in the early 1890's..

ELNA EIDAL was married twice: first to JENS PETER JENSEN in 1918 in Ellensburg and then to WARREN FREDERIC GILMOUR on 6 June 1925 in Ellensburg. Her Obituary in the ELLENSBURG DAILY RECORD of 17 October 1959 follows:

"ELNA MARGARET GILMOUR, Kittitas Valley native, daughter of an early pioneer family, passed away Saturday October 17 a Ellensburg General Hospital... Born Nov 10, 1896, the daughter of the late CHRIS O. EIDAL, she attended local schools, graduated from Bethenia College in Everett in 1912 and attended business college in Seattle. For several years she was employed in a local bank. ELNA EIDAL was married to WARREN GILMOUR at First Lutheran Church here June 6, 1925. Mrs. GILMOUR was a life - long member of the Lutheran Church and for 18 years served as treasurer of that church. Last year she was nominated as church woman of the year by the Council of United Church Women in Ellensburg. She is survived by her husband, a brother ROY M. EIDAL of Albuquerque, New Mexico, two sisters, Mrs. H.C. CARTER of Portland and Mrs. MARIE MAXSON of Seattle. She was preceded in death by two brothers, ELMER EIDAL in 1952 and OTTO EIDAL in 1956. Funeral services will be held in the First Lutheran Church Wednesday October 21 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Silas Erickson officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.”

Esther Avis (Anderson) Pagel passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was born in Brisbane, North Dakota to William and Nancy Anderson on September 25, 1924. Esther had a large, blended family of six half-brothers and sisters, and six brothers and sisters.

She graduated from Leath High School in May, 1943. On March 24th, 1944, she married Wilbert Pagel. She and Wilbert had 12 children and divorced in 1975. Esther never remarried.

Esther was a humble woman that lived her life with strength, courage and ingenuity. She generously loved her family, being with children, enjoying music and laughter. Esther also enjoyed working in her large garden. Using the skills she learned as a child, she started her own home-based business as a seamstress as well as upholstering furniture for many in the community. Esther was a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints, often staying positive by "Counting her Blessings.”

Survived by son, Jerry Pagel (Cheryle) children: Chris (Kimberly), Andy (Cam), Heath (Jen); son-in-law, Saffet Ozturk (husband of daughter, Judy (Pagel) Ozturk), Judy's children: Dan, Robbie, Katie (Mikale) ; son, Richard Pagel, children: Eric, Lindz ; daughter, Nancy Sather (Irv), children: Gabe (Marsha), Elliot (Juli), Chandra (Matthew), Cameron (Tarrah); son, David Pagel, children: Emily; son, Timothy Pagel (Rayna), children: Kevin (Ashley), Krystal (David); son, John Pagel, children: Desiree (Steven), Lacey and Josh (Becky); son, Mark Pagel (Anita), children: Mikayla (Tom), Jordan (Carrie), Justin (Valerie); son, Doug Pagel (Kim), children: Kacey (Lucas); Dalton (Katie); daughter, Mary Stevens, children: Benjamin , Sarah (Neil), Samantha; daughter, Sandy Holmes and (Jeff), children: Rebekah (Tom), Jessikah (Aren), Zacheriah. Esther has been blessed with 45 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by; father, William Anderson; Mother, Nancy Darby; half brothers and sisters: Olive Anderson, Kenneth Anderson, Loiuse Johnson, Richard Anderson, Vergil Anderson, Gordon Anderson and Betty Swenson; brothers and sisters: LaJune Anderson, Joyce Anderson, Gloria Gunderson, Gerald Anderson, Donald Anderson, Norma Phyliss and Vernon Anderson; infant daughter Susan; daughter, Judy (Pagel) Ozturk; son-in-law, John Stevens and grandson Evan Long.

A heartfelt thank you to daughter-in-law, Rayna Pagel for the care and attention she gave to Esther while living at Good Samaritan's long term care facility for the years she was there. Having her close by, as mom's guardian angel, was reassuring for everyone who loves her. While there, Esther enjoyed the music and activities for the residents.

17677 She arrived at the port of New York aboard the Andrea Doria on 15 November 1955. The ship had sailed from Naples, Italy, 8 days earlier. At that time, Dorothea lived at 3609 West 28th Street in Minneapolis. A little over 8 months later, the Andrea Doria sank off Nantucket Island following a collision.

In 1986, Dorothea was still living at 3609 W 28th Street in Minneapolis.

Mousseau Dorothea H., age 90, passed away peacefully at the Jones Harrison Residence on Feb. 5, 2004. Dorothea lived her entire life in Mpls, residing for over 70 years on W. 28th St. before moving to the Kenwood Isle Condominiums. She worked as a secretary for the City of Mpls, retiring in 1978 following 23 years of service. She was an avid reader, a fan of opera, and enjoyed travel. Preceded in death by parents, Richard & Clara; brother, Richard J. Mousseau, Jr. Survived by sister, Marjorie Mishkind; nephews, Jeff and Thomas Mousseau; niece, Mary Haines; great nieces & nephew, Rebecca, Jennifer, and Thomas Jr. Mousseau; childhood friend, Marcelle LaMonte; and many cousins. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 10 AM, Church of St. Olaf (Chapel), 215 S. 8th St., Mpls. Inurnment, St. Mary's Cemetery.

Not listed in the index of deaths in Washington. Either did not die in Washington or else died before 1940.

In the 1910 census, she is shown as having had six children, all six still alive.

Came to this country in 1892 according to the 1920 census. Naturalized as a citizen in 1909.

Naomi’s notes say that Hulda had 2 sons.

Hulda and Roy’s address in the U.S. was 1215 N. E. Ocean View Circle, Jensen Beach, Florida. Possibly 161 Ocean View Circle was correct although that address had been intentionally crossed out.
