17516 Ralph O. on death certificate.

Jessica refers to him as Rollaf Ola Gronseth, son of Ola Larsen Gronseth and Mali Rollaugsdatter Krislok.

The records of the Norway Lake Lutheran churches say that Rolf was born in Goodhue County and “came with parents.” He married Emma E. Ellingboe who was born in Norway Lake.

He became a member of Trønderlag of America in about 1913. This was (and still is) the bygdelag for emigrants and their descendants from the Trøndelag region of Norway. Rolf O. Grønseth, of R. 3, Murdock, Minnesota, and from Stjørdalen, was listed in the Trønderlaget’s 1913 yearbook. The “from Stjørdalen” part must refer to Rolf’s father.

17519 Ramsey County on death certificate TONSAGER, Palmer Oscar (I272)

17520 Rangdi first left Vang in July of 1892. She arrived in New York on the S.S. City of Paris on 27 July with her destination as Minnesota. On that same ship was her nephew Anders K. Ellingboe, age 17, destination St. Paul.

In the 1897 Minneapolis city directory, she was a tailoress for F G Raichle. She roomed at 818 19th Avenue S.

From the Emigrantar over Bergen frå Austlande, on August 26, 1898: three unmarried individuals who were born in Vang i Valdres but were returning to their home in Minneapolis after a visit departed on the Stjernelinjen line. The three were: Britha Larsen Kvale, 26, b. 1872 (#11616), occupation syerske (seamstress), Rangdi Tollefsen Ellingbø, 28, b. 1870, occupation syerske, and Jørgen Tollefsen Ellingbø, 31, b. 1867, occupation juveler.

Rangdi and Berith arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Majestic on September 8, 1898, after departing Liverpool on August 31st. Rangdi is shown as a U.S. citizen, Berith is a citizen of Norway.

In the 1900 U. S. census, Rangdi (b. June 1872) and Jorger Ellingbo (b. July 1867), brother and sister, are living with their newly-arrived niece, Mary Ellingboe (b. June 1883), at 1425 Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis. Rangdi is a seamstress, Jorger is a jeweler, and Mary has no occupation. Jorger originally came to the U. S. in 1885 and Rangdi in 1890.

The 1900 Minneapolis city directory records her as Rangdi Ellingbo, residing at 1425 E Franklin. She was a tailor at The Plymouth.

She is the Rangdi Ellingbo, seamstress, single, living in Minneapolis at 1425 Frankin with her brother Joger and his (and, presumably, her) niece Mary in the 1900 census. She came to this country in 1890 although she is not listed in the 1890 emigrants from Vang.

In the 1903 Minneapolis city directory, she is a tailor for The Plymouth and lives with Marit at 2121 13th Avenue S.

She is a seamstress living with her nephew Ole in Minneapolis in the 1905 state census.

She may be the Rande Ellingboe, sister of Ole Ellingboe, aunt of Oscar Ellingboe wife of Henry Hanson, mother of Mildred Hanson who was born in Minneapolis in 1908. That Rande came to the U.S. in 1899. She and Henry, Mildred, Oscar, and Ole lived at 4428 44th Avenue South in Minneapolis in the 1920 census.

There were two Randis born in Vang in the 1869-1870 period. One was this Randi, the legitimate daughter of Tollef Oleson Ellingbö and Marit Jøgersdatter. The other (#5753) was the illegitimate daughter of Iver Knutsson Ellingbö and Randi Olsdatter Ellingbö.

The informant for her death certificate was Mrs. R. J. Reardon of 5940 11th Avenue. Rangdi died from heart failure. Her residence was 4428 44th Avenue S. Since she was shown as “wife of” in her death certificate, her husband must have survived her.
ELLINGBÖ, Rangdi (I4059)
