A Tabite Nikolaisen was born 26 Jan 1854 in Gjestal, Rogaland, according to FamilySearch. The parish record for Gjesdal in Lye shows that she was Tabithe, daughter of Nicolai Davidsen Edland and Caroline Svendsdatter Edland.
Hermund confirms that Tabitha was born in Gjesdal. The exact location of the original Edland farm is on a protuberance of land on the west end of the Edlandsvatnet lake, just south of the city of Ålgård.
Tabitha’s father Nicolai and brother Christian Edland sold their farms in Gjesdal and moved to Mosterøy on 14 April 1861 where she was raised.
She was confirmed as Tabitta Nicolaisdatter Edland-Vold.
She emigrated from Rennesøy on 20 April 1875 as Tabette Edland. | EDLAND, Tabithe Nicolaisdatter (I8158)
