dwfrench1 calls him Østen Jøgersen Kvien from Kvien in Hurum.

In the 1865 census, he and his wife were living with his parents. Also in the household was his sister’s daughter Anne Hansdatter, age 15.

dwfrench1 has him fathering a child with Randi Olsdatter Brækken. The child, Marith Østendatter, was born in September of 1864. In the 1865 census, that child is living with her unmarried mother and her mother’s parents on a Brækken plass.

17447 See VBIA, p. 586.

According to Jim, Torstein built the Fagerli hotel in 1885-1886. He also had a country store and a taxidermist shop.

In the 1910 Norwegian census, he is Thorstein Helgesen Ellingbø, a storekeeper, hotel owner and farmer on the Fagerlid 33/4 farm in Vang.
ELLINGBØ, Torstein Helgesson (I2916)

17448 See VBIA, p. 586.

Seems to be the owner (Gaardbruger Selveier) of the Ellingbø nordre farm (#20) at the time of the 1865 census.

In the 1886 land register, he is the Helge Helgesen who owns 33-4 Bakkene and 33-5 (old 9-19a2 and 9-20, respectively) of Ellingbø nordre.

He is probably the Helge Helgesen Ellingbø who was one of the two best men at Ove Ovesen’s wedding.
ELLINGBÖE, Helge Helgesson (I2912)

17449 Seems to be called Carina in the 1900 census.

Unmarried and still living at home in the 1920 census.
Clara (I25989)

17450 Seems to be called Chesta or Cherta in the 1900 census. In that census, she had had 11 children, 10 still living. There were 10 children living at home in that census.

In the 1910 census, she is shown to have had 12 children, 10 still living. She came to the U.S. in 1866.

Seems to be called Clara in the 1920 census.

Scott Shawcroft calls her Kjesti Orevik, b. 1855.
