Samuel was born on March 19, 1922 and passed away in September 1981.

Sam was the first born of 10 children. He was my oldest brother. I loved Sam very much and have some very fond memories. He went away to the Navy when I was only 3 years old, so most of my memories of him come from the time when I was 6 years old and had the honor of being the flower girl at his wedding to Alta Ann. My twin brother was the ring bearer at the same wedding. My dress for that wedding was a duplicate of the brides dress and my twin brother wore a sailor suit that was a duplicate of Sam's sailor suit which he wore for the wedding.

When I was 11 years old Sam and Alta took me to Minnesota for the summer to babysit their 2 children, Steven and Sharon. For that summer of babysitting, Sam and Alta bought me my school clothes for the year. I went back to school that year as the best dressed girl in the school.

When I was to return home from Minnesota, Sam put me on a bus for the 500 mile trip. I had to change buses in Des Moines, Iowa. Sam had arranged for a gentleman on the bus to make sure I made it to the new bus station and make my connection to the new bus.

Sam sent dolls to Patrick and I for Christmas when we were 3 years old. I was not much into dolls, so Patrick played with the dolls and wore them out.

Sam left this world far too soon and I will miss him always, but am sure I will meet him again in heaven when it is my time to leave this world.

His obit said that he was a retired Navy veteran and had served in World War II, the Korean conflict, and in Viet Nam. He was a member of the Sons of Norway Henrik Ibsen Lodge and of the Norwegian Mens Club of San Francisco. He was a retired employee of United Airlines.

Sam D. Nesvig, 72, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away May 27, 2010, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Grand Forks, N.D., on Oct. 28, 1937, to Jerome and Ruby (Rensland) Nesvig. He had nine brothers and sisters. He was married Feb. 10, 1960, to LaDell Lomsdal.

Sam has resided in the Prescott area since 1981 after moving from Williston, N.D. He was in the construction field until his retirement.

Sam is survived by many family members who will miss him immensely. They include his wife of 50 years, LaDell; children Shawn of Williston, N.D., Denise (Russ) of Williston, N.D., Todd of Prescott, Ariz., and Ryan (Jennifer) of Prescott Valley; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Ruby, of Buxton, N.D.; seven brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Jerome.

No service is planned at this time. We would like to thank Hospice for all the help and comfort given during his last month of life.

Samuel Gunderson was born on July 27, 1862 at Siljord, Telemarken, Norway. His parents were Gunhild and Gunder Holverson. He spent his early years and obtained his academic and university education, followed by five years of teaching, in the old country, before coming to America in the year 1887, at the approximate age of 25.

Two years later, June 2, 1889, he united in marriage with Sarah Helle at Cresco, and they came to Ridgeway, where they made their home for the following 51 years, with the exception of one year, 1918, spent at Decorah. To this union were born four daughters: Mrs. John Gesell of Ridgeway, Mrs. Sophia Anderson of Rochester, Mrs. Clarence Natvig of Kimball, S. D., and Mrs. Arthur J. Peterson of Minneapolis. Surviving also are the widow, Mrs. Samuel Gunderson, the 4 daughters, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and also three brothers of the deceased; Charles, Halvor and George Gunderson, all of Devils Lake, N. D., and one sister, Gunhild in Norway. The fifty years spent in this vicinity, teaching parochial school and his devoted service in the Lincoln, Madison and Ridgeway congregations is well known by all in this community. His tireless work extended thru out the pastorate of the following: Rev. E. Wulfsberg, Rev. N. P. Xavier, Rev. Thos. Nelson and Rev. Jordahl.

In June of this year, Mr. Gunderson was confined to his bed, and his patience and kind nature was always a pleasure to his loved one constantly around him. Death came peacefully at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday night after nearly six months of confinement. May his blessed memory be ever with us for years to come.

Sandra Anderson, of Mahtomedi, age 75, passed away on August 31, 2017. Preceded in death by husband, Gerald; parents, J. Richard and Juanita Carlson; sister, Cynthia Knutson; granddaughter, Carlie Ann Deilke; and brother-in-law, Mark Jacobs. Survived by daughters, Michelle (Tareqq) Majeed, Carmella Deilke, and Denise (Todd) Rood; grandchildren, Brenden Ellingboe, Gunnar and Wyatt Deilke, Mannaan and Raishma Majeed, Sophie and Sarah Rood; siblings, Susan (Terry) Johnson, Sharon (David) Nagl, David (Cheryl) Carlson, Stacie (Tom Meis) Wiley; sisters-in-law, Lois Anderson and Marilyn Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service, Thursday, September 7.

Sandra Blythe Kilde, 67, entered into the Lord's eternal kingdom on Dec. 31, 2009, due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. Services will be held 10 a.m. MST Monday, Jan. 4, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Beulah, with the Revs. Allan Gerber and Bob Pittman officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. CST in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. MST Sunday at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Sandra was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Gary, Ind., to Robert Dinkmeier and Geraldine (Potts) Dinkmeier. She grew up in Pelican Rapids, Minn., graduating high school in 1960. In 1966, she met and married the love of her life, Vince Kilde. They spent 15 years in Fergus Falls, Minn., raising their family. After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, she attended nursing school at Fergus Falls Community College, receiving her LPN degree, graduating the top of her class.

She loved being a nurse and caring for others. In 1982, the family moved to Hazen, eventually settling in Beulah in 1994. She spent the majority of her career caring for the residents at the Knife River Care Center in Beulah. After retirement, she continued her nursing career working occasional plant outages which she thoroughly enjoyed. Sandy enjoyed all kinds of crafts, playing bingo, baking and spending time with her family. She was the best Grandmother on earth to her grandchildren whom she nurtured, loved and took great pride in. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. But we know she is smiling and happy again, to be with her life time love, Vince, who passed away in January 2009.

Fortunate to have shared her life are her childre, Teresa Carrigan, Bismarck, Brad Kilde and his wife Kristi, Glen Ullin, Lisa and her husband William Layton, Hazen, Steven Kilde and his wife Melissa, Bismarck, Stacee and her husband Curtis McLaughlin, Beulah, Jodi Lynn and her husband Danny Hales, Supply, N.C., and Jason Kilde and his wife Hollee, Halliday; her grandchildren, Brandon Carrigan, Anthony and Stephanie Kilde, Jaydon and Autumn Hurley, Dawson and Adrianna Layton, Logan, Parker, and Madison Kilde, Samantha, Colton and Mariah McLaughlin and Natalee and Kane Kilde. She also had "heart" grandchildren who were dear to her including, Sheena Johnson, Kristin Bauer, Gabrianna Biles and Brekken and Dawson Bieber. She is also survived by two sisters, Sally Hanson and Penny Autey, both of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; her brother, Robert Dinkmeier Jr., Lamar Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. Also lost without her will be her four-legged friend, Pugsley.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her love, husband and soulmate, Vince; and her parents, Robert and Geraldine.

While we were not ready to let her go, we are comforted to know her lonelyness grief and pain are now over. She is with her husband once more.

Sandra Blythe Kilde, 67, Beulah, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Hazen.

She was born Dec. 30 1942, to Robert and Geraldine Dinkmeier in Gary, Ind. She married Vince Kilde in 1966.

Survivors: daughters, Teresa Carrigan, Bismarck, Lisa Layton Hazen, Stacee McLaughlin, Beulah, Jodi Lynn Hales, Supply N.C.; sons, Brad, Glen Ullin, Steven, Bismarck, Jason, Halliday; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Sally Hanson and Penny Autey, both Pequot Lakes, Minn.; brother, Robert Jr., Lamar Mo.
