17073 Russell Elliott Mayer, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Tuesday, September 22, 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Dukes and husband David of Gay, GA; grandson, Michael Desmond and wife Lisa; granddaughter, Erin Desmond; great grandsons, Aiden and Connor Desmond; and sister, Lavonne Haas and husband, Walter. Mr. Mayer was born on February 18, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and May Sanbeau Mayer. He was a member of the American Legion and the DAV. Mr. Mayer was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and per his request, no memorial service will be held. He will finally join his loving wife Georgia who he loved and cherished for so long. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. MAYER, Russell Elliott (I5384)
 
17074 Russell Henry Quamme, 72, of Kenyon, died Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Kenyon Sunset Home.

He was born to Henry and Anna (Soine) Quamme, the youngest of six children, on October 18, 1946 in Faribault, Minnesota. Raised on the family farm north of Kenyon, he attended country school through the third grade, graduated from Kenyon High School in 1965 and Rochester Junior College where he studied Engineering Technology. He was drafted into the United States Army in April, 1968, and served two years as a mail carrier. He was honorably discharged in April, 1970. Russell began working for the U.S. Postal Service in Kenyon in 1971 and retired after 33 ½ years. In his retirement, he was a self-taught computer geek and garden enthusiast. On his computer, he created photo collages, music cd’s and posters. He also enjoyed working with leather (making belts and purses), various art projects (painting, glass etching), loved the outdoors, make maple syrup.

He is survived by his siblings, Benhard “Ben” (and Jean) Quamme of Forest Lake, Howard (and Georgia) Quamme of Nerstrand and Theoline “Teddy” (and Michael) Stoeffregen of Windom; 9 nieces; 10 nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Anna; brother, Roger Quamme; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Edsel Anderson; niece, Theresa Quamme and nephew, Reid Quamme and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at Vang Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10-11am. A Memorial Service will be held April 17, 2019 at 11am at Vang Lutheran Church with The Reverend Paul Graham officiating. Interment with military honors by the Kenyon Color Guard will be in Vang Lutheran Cemetery.

17075 Russell R. Ebert, age 82, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Granton, the son of Oscar and Mildred (Galbreath) Ebert. Russ proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 7 1/2 years during the Korean conflict. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Quale on March 19, 1953. Together they made Madison their home and raised six children. Russ worked for Oscar Mayer for 37 years before retiring. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post No. 7591 where he spent many hours volunteering and being with his friends. Some would say he was a spirited conversationalist. Russ, an avid hunter and fisherman, also enjoyed bowling and loved to dance. Russ was a proud Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.

He will be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth; his children, Daniel Ebert, Timothy (Kim) Ebert, Nancy Juckem, Laura (Pete) Armstrong, Lisa (Terry) Brennan-Choate and Robert (Tina) Ebert; grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah, Andrew, Lindsey, Chris, Preston, Logan, Libby, Tessa and Kayla; great-granddaughter, Piper Faith; brother, LeRoy (Delores) Ebert; sister, Vicki Bradford; brother, Ron (Linda) Marty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

17076 Russell, Michael "Pops" age 54, died Jan. 1 from heart failure related to diabetes. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Gloria; sister, Christine Lee; and son, Joseph. Survived by children, Keefe, Kelly, Kevin, Ryan, and Maggie; their mother Therese; siblings: Janet, Kim, Kathy, Terry, Patrick, David, and Mary Christine (Chris); and a large extended family. Mike held an uncounted number of friends near to his heart. He was loved by many & will be missed. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Friday, Jan. 6. Memorial service will be held 11 am Sat., Jan. 7 at Washburn- McReavy Columbia Heights Chapel, 4101 Central Ave NE. Farewell celebration details will be provided at the services.
