17004 Roland "Junior" A. Leikvoll, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Roland was born on Nov. 8, 1944, in Little Falls, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; four daughters, Anna (Luther Hoskins), Peggy Leikvoll (Sheldon Woods), Missy (Don Czech) Amy Leikvoll; three sons, Bud Leikvoll Jr., Mitch (Ramantha Hamann) and Russell; grandchildren, Luther II (Kala Rhode), Dustin, Ethan and Joshua Hoskins, Nora, Amanda, Cole, Elizabeth Dylan, Maddox Leikvoll, Kyle Leikvoll, Bailey and Uriah Czech.

Preceded in death by his parents, Roland K. and Gladys (Franzen) Leikvoll, Donald and Richard Leikvoll, Darlene (Leikvoll) Hall and Deloris "Toots" (Leikvoll) Reichardt.

17009 Ronald Dean Beito, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo, MN. He was born on, May 7, 1938, to Lloyd and Alta (Halvorson) Beito.

Ronnie attended Asbury Country School while also helping maintain the family farm. He married Deanne Gale Haats of Maynard, MN, on December 29, 1961. Together they had three daughters.

His initial career began at Thorstad Construction Company in Maynard, MN. He then moved his family to Winsted, MN, where he was employed at Sterner Industries and Scherping Welding. These positions provided the foundation skills of construction and welding, which helped him launch his own company, Beito Welding.

Ronnie took the most pride in his family and work. He was fascinated with airplanes and aeronautics and had an appreciation for Farmall C and Allis Chalmers tractors. He loved tinkering in his shop and teaching others his trade. Often, he returned to the family farm and enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table with relatives, reminiscing about the “good ol days”, telling wonderful, humorous stories. Ronnie was a lifelong learner, always looking for his next invention. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to work hard and to follow their dreams.

Left to remember and love him are his wife of 55 years, Deanne, their daughters: Kelly (Brian) O’Neill, Deephaven, MN, Kristen (Scott) Klein, Buffalo, MN, Jennifer Beito, Dallas, TX: 3 grandchildren; Alexander Otto, Cade and Cormac O’Neill; brothers: Gary Beito, Paul Beito and David (Lorelei) Beito; many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lloyd and Alta Beito; mother and father-in-law; Bert and Mildred Haats; siblings/in-laws; Billy and Donna Bruflat, Lou Anne Kling and Judy Beito; nieces/nephews: Jill Bruflat, Timothy Bruflat, Matthew Kling, Todd Haats, and Troy Haats.

17010 Ronald Leroy Marcks, 82, of Pepin died Monday, August 22, 2005, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Wabasha.

He was born June 14, 1923, in Frankfort Township, Pepin County, Wis., son of William and Ruth Jahnke Marcks. He attended the Little Plum School and graduated from Durand High School in 1941. He worked on the home and area farms until September of 1942 when he entered the United States Army. He served in North Africa and Italy. After his discharge in 1945, he returned to Pepin where he did carpentry work.

February 25, 1952, he married Laurel Engel at the Central Methodist Church in Winona, Minn. They lived all their married life in Pepin. Ronald owned and operated the Block Factory and managed the local lumberyard. In 1963, he became Postmaster at the Pepin Post Office where he worked until he retired on September 27, 1985. Laurel died February 26, 1999.

Ronald loved to hunt and fish, work with his hands doing woodworking and fixing anything and everything. He was a member of the Pepin United Methodist Church, the Durand American Legion Post 181 and the National Association of Postmasters of the United States.

He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Diers of Eau Claire, Wis.; son, Ross (Erin) Marcks of Hager City, Wis.; grandchildren, Laura and Justin Diers and Colter Marcks; brothers, Bernard Marcks of Pepin, Wis., and James Marcks of Janesville, Wis.; sisters, Joyce (Jack) Schaffer of California, Joanne Glaus of Red Wing, Minn., Virginia (Charles) Hetrick of Pepin, Wis., Carol (Art) Pittman of Springfield, Ill., and Phyllis (Lynn) Seyffer of Durand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Jahnke Marcks; wife, Laurel Marcks; and brothers, Raymond and Robert Marcks.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Pepin with Pastor Sue Bryce officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Pepin. Military rites will be conducted by Maiden Rock American Legion Post 158.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
