Called Sahra in the 1885 census. Called Sara in the 1900 census.

An Ancestry.com family tree gives her birth and death dates as 6 Dec 1835 to 6 Oct 1903. The church book shows she was born in December of 1834 but the exact day is illegible.

Ove Oveson's letter in 1896 suggests that Marit was still alive at that time but that half-brother Ole had died, childless.

Moved to Haugen, Kvam, after marriage to Aslak Kvåle.

Marit and her two sons named Ole were witnesses/sponsors at the baptism of her granddaughter Marit Ovesdatter (#258).

In the 1900 Norwegian census, she is Marit Olsdatter Kvam, widow, b. 1817, living with her unmarried daughter Marit Aslaksdatter, b. 1842, on the Haugen farm in Vang. Also living with them is Johannes Gullikson, b. 1837, tjenestgut.

Ovidia Thora Anderson, 80, of Cooperstown, ND, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Ovidia was born September 4, 1933, in Cooperstown, ND, the daughter of Oscar and Thora (Larson) Soma. She attended both country and Cooperstown schools.

She married Lloyd R. Thompson February 19, 1951. Together they had six children. On July 26, 1979 she married Clifford W. Anderson at Faith Lutheran Church, in Bismarck, ND.

Ovidia worked as a custodian at First State Bank and at Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked as a nurses aide for several years at the Cooperstown Nursing Home.

Ovidia and Clifford enjoyed traveling together throughout the years. They took numerous trips in the states and also trips to Europe, Norway and the Holy Land. Ovidia was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Griggs County Nursing Home, by helping with card bingo and helping with her elderly friends. She enjoyed playing cards, doing yard work, which she took great pride in, and trips to Lake Tschida. Her outgoing personality will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Ovidia is survived by her husband, Clifford; 5 children, Gail Carlson, Suzann Nelson, Lisa Thompson, Laura Brorby and Rusty Thompson; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Thora, sisters, Joyce Law and Leila Soma, daughter, Gina Lien and 3 infant grandchildren.
