1659 Ansgar Silas Eide, 93, a longtime resident of rural Carlisle, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. 

He was born Nov. 13, 1913, on a farm near Gardner, Ill., the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Hauge) Eide. As a child he returned to Norway with his family, and started school there. Shortly thereafter they moved to the Rothsay area, and in 1926, settled in Carlisle Township. He lived in the Carlisle area until 2006, when he moved to the Sheridan House in Fergus Falls.

On April 4, 1942, he married Thora Sletten. The couple resided on the farm where they raised four sons. 

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was active in VSP, was active in the Eagles, and was a past school board member of rural District 226.

Ansgar was especially good with his hands, and loved woodworking and playing Bingo. For many years he enjoyed being a summer resident of Ten Mile Lake where he enjoyed fishing and his many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Thora; one son, Terry Eide; and one brother, Edwin Eide.

Survivors include his three sons, Gary (Sally) Eide of Highland Park, Ill., Tim Eide of Fergus Falls, and Curt (Trish) Eide of West Fargo; six grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Lori, Kyle, Colin and Allison; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Brett and Brady; two sisters, Mildred Sether and Bernice Kvern both of Fergus Falls; one brother, John (Beverly) Eide of Moorhead; three sisters-in-law, Alfreda Eide and Palma Martin, both of Fergus Falls, and Levine (Don) Mattson of Menominee, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Orvin (Vivian) Sletten of Salem, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation: Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

1660 Anthony Louis “Tony” Milone, 67, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, passed away on March 7, 2024. He was born on June 11, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Louis Milone and Dorris (Morrissey) Milone.

Tony, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband to his late wife, Judith Ellen Milone. He was a dedicated father to his daughters: Molly (Tanner) Holgate, Katrina (Jay) Katelman, and Michaela (Steven) Brown. Tony adored his grandchildren: Addison and Harper Holgate, Vivian and Parker Katelman, and Barrett, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Waylon Brown. He is also survived by his siblings: Thomas Milone, Mark (Christine) Milone, and Cindy (Jim) Ortiz; along with numerous cousins.

In his professional life, Tony worked at OPPD, Enron, and Northern Natural Gas. He was a proud graduate of Ralston High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Tony found joy in managing pools for the City of Omaha, teaching swimming, and spending time at the casino.

Tony will be remembered for his infectious smile, humor, intelligence, and kindness. His grandchildren fondly recall him as someone who always brought laughter and joy into their lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
