As Marguerite Flaten, she married Frederick Williamson in Minneapolis on 19 Sep 1897.

In the 1900 census, she is shown as Marguerite Williamson, wife of Fred. had been married for three years and had had no children. Both of her parents had been born in Norway.

In the 1910 census, the Williamsons, as Fred and Dortie M, live in Minneapolis. They have been married for 13 years. She has never had children. She was 33, born in Minnesota to parents born in Norway. He was 35, born in Wisconsin, to parents born in England. Fred is a commercial traveler in the hardware field.

She probably died in California.

A different, slightly younger, Dorothea Flaten (b. ca 1881 in Minnesota) married Nels C Pearson (b. ca 1880 in Sweden) in Minneapolis at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church on 14 Dec 1911. She was the daughter of Ole Ingvaldsen Flaten (#32871).

A different Dorothea Williamson died in Lac qui Parle County in 1937.

She is not mentioned as a survivor in the obit of her sister Nellie who died in 1961. Nor is she listed as a survivor in the obit of her brother Nordahl who died in 1960.

More than one family tree on Ancestry have her dying in 1971 in California but that is incorrect. The Dorothea Pearson who died in 1971 in Riverside County was born 11 Jan 1881 and is the other Dorothea Flaten mentioned above.

In the 1900 Minneapolis city directory, she was a domestic and lived at 1911 Elliot Ave.

She died at a Palm Springs hospital. She was survived by a daughter, Maren Gram of Palm Springs, and her two sons: Walter of Portland and Russell of Chatsworth. Also surviving were 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In the 1930 census, he was living with his maternal grandparents in Kittson County, Minnesota. His name in that census was Russell Helmer or Hebner.

Enlisted in the U.S. Army on 22 Jun 1945 at Fort Snelling. At that time, he lived in Kittson County.

Taught accounting at Moorhead State College in the late 1950s. Later taught at St. Cloud.

In the 1940 census, he was the 12 year-old Russell Madsen living with Le Roy Madsen and his wife Elvera in Percy Twp in Kittson County.

None of the family trees on Ancestry show Russell’s biological father.

He may be the Edw Ellingboe in the 1948 Minneapolis city directory who lived at 2428 Nicollet Avenue. He was an office worker.

An obit in the Faribault Daily News:

Edward Ellingboe, 85, of Northfield, died Tuesday, April 23, 1996, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Vang Lutheran Church, rural Dennison, with the Rev. Gerald Gengenbach officiating. Burial will be in Vang Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Benson Funeral Home, Northfield. He was born on Oct. 9, 1910, to Erick and Johanna (Svien) Ellingboe in Dennison. He attended Dennison Public Schools. He never married. With the exception of his time in the U.S. Army, he lived and farmed on the family farm east of Dennison all his life until moving into Northfield three years ago. He retired from farming in 1977. He was a a member of Vang Lutheran Church and was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Ellingboe of Northfield , a niece, Karen (and Dale) Schuette of Northfield; and a nephew, Arlie Egland of Dennison. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivar and Erick; and one sister, Amanda Egland.
