Phyllis M. Wallin, of Ogilvie, MN, died peacefully in her sleep at her beloved home on Fri, Feb 14, 2014, at the age of 84. Phyllis was born on Mar 13, 1929, to Carl and Clara (Sorensen) Lundahl in Dassel, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother: James Lundahl. Phyllis was a life-long member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she was active in many activities. At an early age the family moved to a farm in Maple Ridge Township near Dalbo. She attended country school during her elementary years and graduated from Ogilvie High School. During high school, Phyllis worked at the Wendberg meat locker in Dalbo. On Nov 18, 1950, Phyllis married Blaine Wallin of Walbo at Salem Lutheran church, after which Blaine was deployed to Korea where he served on the front line. During his service in Korea his first child, Connie, was born. Phyllis loved being a wife and mother and the family grew to four children under the age of 6 with the addition of Greg, Julie, and Patty. The family settled in Brooklyn Park, MN, in 1953. In 1972, they purchased a lake lot on Perry Lake near Crosby, MN, where they enjoyed 'roughing it' and rustic outdoor living. Later, after selling the Perry Lake lot, they purchased a home on Mille Lacs Lake, which they enjoyed for a number of years. In 1976, they purchased a farmstead near Day where they spent their weekends and vacations farming, while continuing their full-time jobs in Brooklyn Park. In 1996, they moved to the house, where they currently reside, which Blaine built for her on the farmstead. While in Brooklyn Park, Phyllis was a housewife and mother, raising her four children but never forgetting her roots. She enjoyed tending to flower and vegetable gardens and loved to can fruits, vegetables and pickles. Most of all, Phyllis loved being a Mom. When the children were grown, Phyllis worked briefly for a manufacturer and later for Gold Eagle Cleaners for several years. After they purchased the farm, she raised sweet corn there, getting up at four in the morning to pick the corn, and then driving 50 miles to Crystal to sell it. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Blaine; children: Connie (Kent) Lee of Minneapolis, Gregory Wallin of Rush City, Julie (Tim) Englund of Park Rapids, Patty (Craig) Conlon of Hamel; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one brother: Howard (Claryce) Lundahl of Braham, MN. | LUNDAHL, Phyllis Marie (I31363)
