Unmarried and living with her parents in the 1865 census.
In the 1910 Norwegian census, she is a widow living on Ellingbø under 33, under 1. The five-person household includes her daughter, Ingrid Tomasdatter Ellingbø, b. 1874.09.29.
Jim said that she became the second wife of Tomas Tomassen of Haugen on Nedre Kvåle (1835-1886). She married just one year after Ole Throndsen Ellingboe’s letter. Of Ellingbø 33/5.
Information from Roy Ellingboe. Moved from Wisconsin to settle Lawrenceburg, TN, in 1894, with about 80 Norwegian families.
In the 1870 census was a laborer in the Town of Preble, Brown County, Wisconsin. There were no Ellingboes listed in the 1872 or 1872-73 city directory for Green Bay.
In the 1873 Cleveland, Ohio, city directory, he was Gilbert Ellingboe, carpenter, residing at 62 Carroll.
In the 1878 plat book for Gibson, Gilbert had a 40 acre plot in Section 15, about a mile west and slightly north of Helge’s 80-90 acre farm in Section 16.
In the 1880 census was single and living with his sister Randa Rumery and her 3 Rumery children in Gibson, Wisconsin. There is no indication of Randi’s marital status.
From the Two Rivers Manitowoc Co. Chronicle, Tue. June 16, 1891: Mr. Gilbert Ellingboe, of Gibson, cut his leg quite severely in a shingle saw, while at work repairing a pulley that run on the same last week.
In the 1900 census (June 18th) was living with his family in the “8th civil district” in Lawrence County, Tennessee. The family consisted of Gilbert C., 53 (born Feb 1867), Anna, 44 (born Mar 1856), Conrad T., 12 (born Nov 1887), Bertha B., 10 (born Sept 1889), Enoch H., 8 (born Dec 1891), Arthur, 6 (born Jan 1874), Elma L., 4 (born Feb 1896), and Gibson C., 1, born August 1898. Anna is shown as having had 6 children, all six still living. The first three children were born in Wisconsin, the last three in Tennessee. Anna was born in Iowa and her parents were born in Norway. Gilbert is a farmer; he owns his farm, free of mortgage.
Clearly called “E.R. Ellingboe” on the Tennessee death certificate for which his son, C.R. Ellingboe, was the informant. Gilbert died of heart failure with chronic nephritis being a contributory factor.
