Sigrid Helgesdatter Igda was born August 26, 1814 at Vang, Valders, Norway to Helge Helgerson Igda and Sigrid Olesdatter Lokreim. She married Torkild Andersen Estrem on May 22, 1844.

Torkild, Sigrid and their family made papers to come to America on March 9, 1849. He was 43 and she was 34. They came by sailboat settling first in Wisconsin and then about two years later they moved to near Decorah, Iowa. On the 16th day of June in 1854 Torkild was granted his United States citizenship under the name of Therschel Andersen.

Sigrid had 6 children; Gunhild born November 8, 1842, married Haavor Knudson December 7, 1861, she died September 18, 1903; Helge "Henry," born January 29, 1849, married Marit Gullickson December 3, 1870, died November 13, 1924; Ingeborg Isabel born August 18, 1852, married Gilbert Nilsen Haugen December 30, 1878, died February 2, 1928; Sigrid "Sara" born January 22, 1855, married Andrew Score 1875, died November 27, 1927; Anders "Andrew" born October 12, 1857, married Sissel Oyloe October 4, 1893, died January 31, 1931; Christopher Torkel born October 2, 1860, married Anna Numedahl September 18, 1881, died June 12, 1944.

Mrs. Paul (Sophia) Overby, 82 , died Sunday. The funeral will be at 3 Tuesday in the Binford High School Gymnasium.

Sophia Haugen was born January 19, 1890, at Petersburg, Nebraska. She was married on January 25, 1908, at Northfield, Minnesota, and the couple farmed west of here.

She leaves her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Leon (Inga) Willett, Waverly, Iowa, Mrs. Paul (Emma) Baker, Edmunds, N.D., Mrs. Walter (Clara) Vigesaa, Mesa, Arizona; four sons, Andrew, Finland, Minnesota; Byron, Carrington, N.D., Roy, 318 20th Street North, Fargo; Cleon Moe, Bay City, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Overby was born here March 13, 1886, and married Sophia Haugen January 25, 1908. The couple farmed here. His wife died last April.
