Marge was born on May 13, 1926 to Mable and Albert Guthmiller at their farm home near Freeman, South Dakota. She grew up in rural Freeman and graduated from Menno High School in 1945. In 1946 she married Heins Heinsohn of Scotland, South Dakota, and they farmed near Olivet, South Dakota. They were blessed with two children – Lori Ann in 1959 and William Heins in 1963. Heins died tragically in a farm accident on November 6, 1971. In 1978 Marge married Lorell Sorensen of Flandreau and added three grown children Maxine, Shirley, and Jon to her family. Marge eventually added 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren to her family, in addition to many, much loved, nieces and nephews.
Marge loved music and she participated in many choirs and concerts. Her biggest thrill was participating in the Billy Graham Choir. She attended First Lutheran Church in Brookings and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Brookings Activity Center. Marge did volunteer work in numerous nursing homes and hospitals.
Burial will be at the Scotland, South Dakota, cemetery.
