Aslak (paa haugen) Lajord according to Brad's January 7, 1991, letter. In that letter, Brad explains that Aslak came from a farm named Lajord.
For their marriage entry in the parish record, he is Aslag Olsen Qvale. He is also called that on his daughter Marit’s birth record. For his first son’s birth record he is called Aslak Olsen Söndre-Qvauss. For the 1847 Ole and the 1850 Ole and the 1855 Ole, he was Qvam.
At the time of the 1865 census, Marit and Aslak lived on a farm in Vang named Haaugen.
According the 1865 census, Marit and Aslak had two sons named Ole, one born in 1844, one born in 1855. The older one’s occupation, at the time of the 1865 census, was “er hjemme og er Uhrmager.”
