Mrs. Harriet A. Schnepf, 60, of Berkeley Heights died yesterday at home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights.

Mrs. Schnepf was a teacher's aide with the Berkeley Heights Board of Education for 30 years.

Born in the Bronx, she lived in Elizabeth before moving to Berkeley Heights 36 years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Gan and Mrs. Barbara Ossman, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Herbert J. Cole, 47, life-time resident of Rochester, died Sunday of cancer at her home, 530 6th St. SW, after 11 months illness.

The former Constance Irene Koenig was born in Rochester Sept. 3, 1914. She was married to Herbert J. Cole Oct. 6, 1940. Mr. Cole is proprietor of the Cole Drug Store on North Broadway.

Mrs. Cole is survived by her husband; two children, Irene and Tom; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Koenig of Rochester, and a brother, Lloyd S. Koenig of Rochester.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Services will be held at the Zumbro Lutheran Church, the Rev. Abner Haugen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hilda O. Lockrem, 87, Route 1, Northfield, died Sunday at the Odd Fellows Home. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Benson Funeral Home, the Rev. Jennings Feroe officiating. Interment will be in Northfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Benson Funeral Home. She is survived by three sons, Eldon and Burnell, both of rural Northfield and Merton of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Gallarane of Minneapolis and Mrs. James (Hazel) Wakefield of St. Cloud.

Mrs. John Carr Passes Away at Jamestown Home

Jamestown, N. D., March 6 --- Mrs. John Carr, wife of States' Attorney Carr, passed away at midnight Wednesday night, following an illness of about two weeks. Mrs. Carr has been in poor health for almost two years, but had been gaining in health and strength up to about the first of the year. About two weeks ago, she was taken with what was considered a very mild attack of influenza, and was not considered seriously ill until Wednesday noon. She failed very rapidly from then on until the time of death.

The deceased was forty-five years of age, having been born in Dennison, Minnesota, on May 19, 1874. Her maiden name was Marie Remmen, and she was married to Mr. Carr on August 22, 1905 in Minnesota, coming directly to Jamestown with her husband who had started in business here three years before. Mrs. Carr was a graduate of the State Normal School at Valley City and taught in the city schools at that place for about six years prior to her marriage.

Mrs. Carr leaves in addition to her husband, four children: Edwin, aged 13; Mary, aged 10; William, aged 5; and Martha, aged two years and five months. She also leaves her mother, Thora (Mrs. Anders T. Remmen) of Dennison, Minnesota, two brothers, Martin Remmen of Hettinger, North Dakota and Dr. Nils Remmen of Chicago, Illinois, and two sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Kjostel A. Bonhus) of Valley City, North Dakota and Randine (Mrs. Knute H. Braaten) of Belfield, North Dakota.

Mrs. K. K. Skattebo, 72, passed away at her home in Wallingford Thursday evening [Aug. 13,1931] after an illness of five years of creeping paralysis. For the past two weeks she had been bedfast, tenderly cared for by her granddaughter, Miss Evelyn Clemmenson.

Mrs. Skattebo (Marit Berge) was born in Manitowoc county, Wis., on June 28, 1859. [Her parents were Ove Zachariassen Boe-Odegaarden-Berge and Marit Olsdatter Berge who migrated from Vang, Valdres, Norway in 1852 to Manitowoc county.]

As an infant she was baptised in the Lutheran faith. Later she was confirmed and she was married to K. K. Skattebo on July 3, 1885, by the same pastor who had confirmed her and who later baptized their first child. [Knud Knudson Skattebo was born 14 Jan 1859 in Manitowoc county to Knud Skattebo and Emma Roble Skattebo, also Norwegian immigrants. [He died 29 Sep 1939 at Wallingford, Emmet County, Iowa.]

Early in the summer of 1885, Mr. and Mrs. Skattebo moved to Emmet county settling on a farm near the Immanuel church now occupied by Mr. Ball. After two years they moved to the farm on the eastern edge of Twelve Mile Lake township where after purchasing it the second year, they resided for 17 years. They retired at this time and moved into Wallingford.

Mr. and Mrs. Skattebo were the parents of nine children, four of whom, Emma, Leonard, Minnie and Gusta have preceded their mother in death. The husband and five children, Clarence, Mrs. John Graff, Lloyd, Arthur and Francis, all of the Wallingford neighborhood survive. There are also eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. David Thompson, a brother of Chicago and S. O. Berge of Manitowoc, Wis., left to mourn the passing of this esteemed woman.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with Rev. Peder Nordsletten in charge. Rev. S. Strand also spoke. Short prayer services were held at the home at one-thirty with the service proper at the Wallingford church starting at two. Hymns were sung by a quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Lundy, Miss Esther Olson and J. G. Gunderson. The following were pallbearers, Chris Larson, J. O. Kasa, E. E. Ellefson, Paul Paulson, Nels Mickelson and Tom Natterstad. A large gathering of friends at the services spoke of the high regard in which the deceased woman was held.

Mrs. K. K. Skattebo, who prior to her marriage, was known as Marit Berge, was born in Manitowoc County, Wis.., on June 28th, 1859. [She was a daughter of Marit and Ove Berge.] Succumbed to death, she left this world on Thursday evening, August 13, 1931 at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 13 days.

As an infant she was baptized in the Lutheran faith. Later on she was confirmed in the same faith. The pastor Rev. Alfson, who confirmed her, also married her and likewise baptized her first born child. She was united in wedlock to Mr. K. K. Skattebo on July 3, 1885.

Influenced by the example of others who had migrated westward from Wisconsin to the younger settlements of the Dakotas, Mr. and Mrs. Skattebo in the strength and vigor of their best years, decided to make their future home in Emmet County. And thus in the early summer of 1885, they settled in the High Lake township on the farm which is now farmed by Mr. Ball near the Immanuel Church. At this place, they resided for two years. Then they moved, and this was in 1887, to their farm in the eastern edge of the Twelve Mile Lake township. They rented this farm the first year. During the second year of residence they purchased it. On this farm Mrs. Skattebo with the other members of this family lived continually until 17 years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Skattebo moved into the town of Wallingford.

Five years ago Mrs. Skattebo contracted the illness known as creeping paralysis. During the last two weeks of her life's journey, she was bedfast. With much credit to her grandchild, Miss Evelyn Clemenson, Mrs. Skattebo during her sickness was tenderly cared for by her.

Mrs. Skattebo was the mother of nine children. Four of them known as Emma, Leonard, Minnie and Gusta, have preceded their mother in death. She is survived by her husband and five children, namely Clarence, Lottie, known as Mrs. John Graff; Lloyd, Arthur and Francis. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren. Likewise a sister, Mrs. David Thompson of Chicago and a brother S. O. Berge, whose last address was Manitowoc, Wis. All her five surviving children reside in Emmet County, near Wallingford.

The funeral services were held on Saturday, August 15, 1931, with Rev. Peder Nordsletten, local pastor in charge. Rev. S. Strand spoke also. A brief service was conducted at the house at 1:30 o'clock while the service started at 2 o'clock at the Wallingford church. In spite of the busy season a very large gathering was present to bid farewell to one of its older settlers. In addition to floral offerings that were given, a gift to the Home Mission was given also.

A quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Lundy, Miss Esther Olson, and J. G. Gunderson, sang three hymns. The following were the pallbearers: Chris Larson, J. O. Kasa, E. E. Ellefson, Paul Paulson, Nels Mickelson and Tom Natterstad.

MRS. K.O. BERGE, 62 PASSES AWAY SUNDAY AT VALDERS HOME Mrs. K.O. Berge, 62, passed away on Sunday afternoon at the family home in Valders. Her maiden name was Marie Larson and she was born in Jerpen in 1869.

She has been seriously ill for the past ten days. Mrs. and Mrs. Berge moved into the village several years ago from their farm home. A husband, three daughters, Mrs. Ernst J. Hacker, city, Agnes and Edna, at home, two sons, Chester and Morton, six grandchildren, five sisters and one brother survive.

Burial will take place Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Lutheran church in Valders.

In the 1910 census, she had had seven children, all seven still alive.

Mrs. Knud Finkelson, 98, of 723 N. Tenth St., Manitowoc, died Sunday at home.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Finkelson, nee Malla Olson Berge, was born March 22, 1867, at Valders, daughter of the late Ole and Beril Veblan Berge.

She was married Dec. 13, 1886, at Chicago to Mr. Finkelson and the couple located at Manitowoc after marriage. She was a member of the Women of First Lutheran and a charter member of the Altar Guild. Her husband died Aug. 9, 1921.

Survivors are two daughters, Miss Mabel, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Edward Seefluth of Stevens Point, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Mrs. Lloyd Koenig, 65, of 2780 Riverside Lane NE and wife of a local hotel manager, died today at Rochester Methodist Hospital of a respiratory ailment. She had been ill eight years.

The former Edith Johnson was born March 5, 1909 in Jackson County, Wis. She attended schools and business college in Eau Claire, Wis., where she was married to Lloyd Koenig March 3, 1932. The couple moved to Rochester that same year. He is manager of the Martin Hotel here.

Surviving are her widower, a daughter, Mrs. James Steeg of Princeton, N.J.; two brothers, Elmer of Eau Claire and Julius Johnson of Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Block of Black River Falls, Wis., Mrs. Olga Strand of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Einar Strom of Minneapolis, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Oley Berge, 58, of R. 1, Valders, died Thursday night at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a brief illness. The former Dagny Knutson was born Sept. 23, 1916 at Valders, a daughter of the late Lewis and Ella Knutson. She was a graduate of Valders High School. On June 27, 1936, she was married to Oley Berge at Valders. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Liberty since their marriage. Mrs. Berge was a member of the American Lutheran Church Women of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and a member of the Roselawn Homemakers. Survivors include her husband; three sons, (private); one daughter, (private); three brothers, George of Manitowoc, Eugene, of Beloit, and Oliver of Reading, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Dedering, of New Holstein, and Mrs. Theodore Wimmler, of Litchfield, Mich., and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, with the Rev. Carl Poters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.

Mrs. Olga F. Seefluth, 87, 3225 Dan's Drive, died Thursday at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Wisconsin Rapids, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Revs James Oliver and Daniel Litzer will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Boston Funeral Home and after noon Monday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Seefluth was born March 8, 1890, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Knud Finkelson. She grew up and attended schools there.

She married Edward W. Seefluth on Nov. 1, 1911, in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee for five years and in Charles City, Iowa, and Madison for several years before coming to Stevens Point in 1936.

Mr. Seefluth was a sales representative for Medusa Portland Cement Co. before starting Stevens Point Concrete Co. in 1945. After his death in 1953, she maintained ownership of the company and served as an officer until her death. She entered the nursing home in 1974.

Survivors include three daughters.
