15102 More confusion, the birth record for the Anders born on this date shows his parents as Even Torstensen and Marthe Andersdatter and his parents’ farm as Ødegaarden, Jevne.

The 1891 Norwegian census shows the 9 year-old Anders as, apparently, the child of Anders Haaversen and Berith Knudsdatter. Others on that farm are Mareth Andersdatter, 69, and Knud Johannessen, 60, apparently serving as foderaads.

His obit calls him Andrew Anderson Holien, age 85. He had been a farmer in the Wrencoe area west of Sandpoint for 30 years before moving to Spokane in 1946. His obit said that he was an uncle of Henry Holien, Sandpoint, and Mrs. Bertha Heaton of Spokane. Andrew had been on the board of directors of the initial REA utility in the area as well as the board of the local gas coop.

15104 Morningside College, class of 1971.

Dr. Mark A. Lieder, well known Estes Park, Colo. realtor and classic car enthusiast, died peacefully Monday, June 23, 2003 after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 13, 1949 to Lyle and Betty (Leggett) Lieder in Boston, Mass.

He graduated high school in Spencer, Iowa; received a Bachelor's of Arts degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa; and a Masters of Divinity, Doctorate of Ministry from the School of Theology in Claremont, Calif. He joined the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served United Methodist Churches in New Hartford, Fayette, Parkersburg, Woodward, and Iowa Falls, Iowa. He retired from professional ministry in 1995 and moved to Estes Park after having been a visitor for 30 years. He worked at Coldwell Banker Realty and was a founding member of the Estes Park Car Club. He was passionate about restoring vintage automobiles and collecting antiques. He loved hiking, rock climbing and enjoyed intellectual and physical challenges.

He is survived by his parents; his partner, Pam McCarthy and her daughter, Natalie Long, of Estes Park; a son, Chris Lieder, with the U.S. Air Force in Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Emily Lieder, of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, David Lieder, of Stewartville, Minn.; sisters, Becky Smith of Iowa City, Iowa, Deb Kiesey of Vinton, Iowa, Rachel Lieder-Simeon of Eagle River, Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Friday, June 27, at the Community Church of the Rockies in Estes Park with the Rev. Mark Evans officiating.

Memorials sent to the family will go directly to the Cerro Gordo County Trails Committee in Mark's name as Mark was a very avid outdoorsman and concerned about the environment.

15106 Most data on Daniel and Märta and the birth dates of their children from the Haga parish records.

Lars shows birth month as October, not January. (January is correct according to the Bodsjö parish birth record.)

Daniel and Märta lived at Haga No. 5 for the whole period of 1847-1854 according to the Lockne Household Examination.
OLOFSSON, Daniel (I316)

15107 Most likely he was born Aslak.

Eric Allen shows different parents.

In the 1906 state census, he is Alack, a 73 year-old widower farming with his sons Albert, 23, and Benny, 21, in Deerfield Twp. Also in the household, as boarders, were the 24 year-old Martha Quale, born in Wisconsin, an unmarried woman, and, apparently, her daughter Jennie, age 1.
NELSON, Alexander “Aleck” (I36984)

15108 Most likely, and assumed here, he was born Helge Evenssen in Vang. He was called Helge Evensson Höverstad when he left Vang for the U.S. in March of 1862 at age 19. His death certificate, for which the informant was his son-in-law, shows his father’s name as Helge Holen Hoverstad.

He was a farmer in Wang Twp, Renville County, in the 1880, 1885, 1895, and 1900 censuses. In the 1910 census, he is retired with “own income” and is, apparently, letting his daughter and son-in-law run the farm.

In the 1895 census, he claimed to have been in Minnesota for 34 years, 24 of which were in the present enumeration district. In the 1900 census, he came to the U.S. in 1862.

Helge died of stomach cancer.
