14641 Mark was born in Minot, N.D., to the Rev. Alvin and Borghild Selid. He graduated from West Valley High School in Spokane (1965) and from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma (1969). After a brief time serving in the U.S. Army, Mark earned his CPA license (1981) and his master's degree in taxation (1986). In addition to being a CPA, Mark was a professor at George Fox University, where he taught both graduate and undergraduate programs. First and foremost, Mark was a family man. In April 2011 Mark welcomed his first grandchild, Owen Mark. Mark was also an avid golfer, tennis player, skier, bicyclist and OSU Beaver fan. Mark was preceded in death by his first wife, Marcy in 1991; and father, Alvin in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Andy; son, Christopher; mother, Borghild; and various siblings, nieces and nephews. SELID, Mark (I36007)
 
14642 Mark “Buffler” Waller, 66, Barnesville, MN, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Moorhead.

Mark Lamont Waller was born January 31, 1949 in Ada, MN to Wallace and Adeline Kindseth Waller. He grew up in Twin Valley, MN and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1967.

Mark married Kay Hagen on August 12, 1971, and to this union were born three beautiful children.

Mark was a quiet man who kept to himself due to his intelligence gathering of the Barnesville locals.

He enjoyed watching his children play sports and especially loved baseball. The last few years the Vikings and Twins let him down too much and he could not take it anymore.

Mark had a great sense of humor and will be forever missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by sons, Andrew Becca Waller, Moorhead, Luke Waller, Port Lincoln, Australia; daughter, Melissa Venance Lorenz, Greeneville, SC; brothers, Waldo Deb Waller, Goleta, CA, Brian Sue Waller, Grantsburg, WI and Kim Waller, Fargo; and grandchildren, Madeline Lorenz, Ella Lorenz, Sam Lorenz, Henry Lorenz, Emmett Waller, Isabella Waller, Jack Waller, Zoe Waller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Daria Askegaard.

14645 Marlin Skogstad, 63, Stanley formerly of Minot, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in a Minot hospital.

Marlin LeRoy Skogstad was born on October 22, 1953 in Minot to Arthur and Gladys (Hanson) Skogstad. He lived on the family farm south of Blaisdell and attended Plaza schools graduating in 1972. After high school, he enrolled in Williston College, where he was in the Architectural Drafting program for two years, graduating in 1974.

Once out of school Marlin returned to the farm. He worked out of the home as a freelance sketch artist and oil painter. In 2000, Marlin moved to Minot for a couple of years and then to Stanley for the remainder of his life. His working years in Stanley were spent working in the custodial department of the Mountrail Bethel Home and a local hotel in the housekeeping and maintenance departments. He retired due to his health.

In addition to his love of the arts and painting, Marlin enjoyed gardening and was a talented interior decorator of his home. He was once a member of Shell Creek Lutheran Church, Plaza and First Lutheran Church, Minot. He will be missed by all who shared in his life.

His loving family includes brothers, Ardell (Barbara) Skogstad, Minot and LeVern (Jody) Skogstad, Commerce City, CO; nephews, Chris (Michelle) Skogstad, Mike Bloms; nieces, Amber (Jeff) WhiteOwl and Jessica Skogstad; great nephews and niece, Kylan Skogstad, Ethan and Brandon WhiteOwl, Aryanna and Kaidyn Seay along with numerous cousins.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Elizabeth Skogstad.

14646 Marlo R. Remme, 81, of Dennison, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born August 10, 1931 in Warsaw Township, Minnesota the son of Martin and Mabel (Baker) Remme.

After school Marlo started working at various places and on his own as a mechanic. He was then drafted into the United States Army and served from 1952-1954 in the Korean War. After the war he was employed at different Ford Dealerships around the area and also worked at Isaacson Implement. He was also a self employed mechanic who was very proud of his work.

He was united in marriage to Carol Olsen on August 10, 1963, and the couple was blessed with three children.

Marlo was a member of Vang Lutheran Church, the Ford-Son Tractor Collectors Society and the T-Totaler-Model "T" car club, and also the Rice County Steam and Gas Engine Association. After retirement he also did some trucking with his sons. First and foremost in Marlo's life was his family, his Model T Cars and animals, he also enjoyed tractor pulls and threshing shows.

He is survived by his wife Carol Remme of Dennison, three children David Remme of Dennison, Dennis Remme of Dennison, and Dawn(Greg) Huisman of Ellsworth, MN, he is also survived by three grandchildren Dalton, Alexa, and Hayden Anne, and a brother Albert Remme of Dennison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister in law Evelyn Remme, and half brothers and sisters Joel Remme, Ferdinand Remme, Mabel Finesgaard, and Theresa (Dolly) Miller.

And as Marlo Remme would say "God Bless Us All.”
