1464 Ambjor (as 20 year-old Ambjor Ovesdatter Böe) and her brother Erick (as 17 year-old Erick or Erich Ovessen Boe) emigrated from Vang on April 15, 1866.

The 1900 and 1910 censuses say that she had 10 children, 8 still living.

Her son Ole is shown as head-of-household in the 1920 census. Living with Ole and his mother on the family farm are Bertha and Ida.

Her death certificate, for which Mrs. W. H. Shortt of Sioux City was the informant, says that Ambjor was born 1 January 1847. Ambjor died of pneumonia and mitral regurgitation.

Obit. Amjor Ellingboe born Vang Valders, Norway, 31 Dec 1846, died 30 Jan 1926. Immigrated 1864 and the same year married W.O. (William) Ellingboe (deceased) in Jefferson Prairie, Wisc. Lived on a farm west of Hills, MN. Five deceased children: Maren, Ove, Luella, Bertha, Ida. Surviving children Bessie, Marie, Ole, Julia. Pall bearers included Hans Haraldson and C.E. Halls.

The following attended the funeral of Amjor Ellingboe… E. B. Olson (brother of the deceased) of Minneapolis.

Her will is recorded in the Rock County Will Records, Volume B, 1921-1937, for the will year 1926.

Called Ingebor Olsdatter in the birth and baptism record for Wilhelmine Beata.

Ambjor’s will, dated 9 Oct 1924, appointed her son Ole to be the executor of her estate. After expenses, the estate was to be disbursed as follows: Ole to get $1, Emma Shortt to get $1, the remainder of her estate to go 50% to Betsey, 25% to Julia Cox, and 25% to Marie West.

1465 Among her baptismal sponsors were a Nils Knudsen Flom and a Brita Torjusdatter Flom. Jim’s VS has an Ingeborg Torjusdatter Flåm, probably a sister, born 1828 in Aurland (I40124).

The Dalby database says she was born March 13.

1466 Among the baptism sponsors listed for her were Guru Olsdatter Leerfald and Biret Olsdatter Ness, her aunts. Her name was entered in her birth record as Gürü.

The November 30, 1832, date is the marriage date shown in Olianna’s birth record. It is also the marriage date shown in the Verdal church book. Other sources suggest March 1, 1833.

Shown in the 1865 Norwegian census as Gurru and having been born in 1809.

Shown in the 1875 Norwegian census as the widow Guru Halvorsdatter, b. 1809 in Vinne, Verdalen, “Svigermoder” and “for 2 Maal Jord”, living with Martinus and Olianna on Maritvoldvald.

Their first child was born out of wedlock.

None of the children remained in Verdal; four of them emigrated to the U.S.

In the listings of her children’s births in Digitalarkivet, her residence is shown variously as Folloe, Østvoldvald, Øhr, Maritvoldvald Øren, Øren, and Maritvoldvaldet.

A Guru Haldorsdatter, age 56, died in Verdal/Stiklestad on 30 Apr 1877. Farm name illegible.

Kari Yamane calls her Guru Halvordatter Folloe or Ness.
