Madeline E. Sondrol, age 91 of Sunburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 26th at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg with Pastor Paul Idstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the West Norway Lake Cemetery in Sunburg. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Madeline Eleanor Sondrol, the daughter of Ole and Julia (Braaten) Thompson was born April 21, 1918 in Brooten, Minnesota. Madeline grew up in rural Brooten where she attended country school.
On October 1, 1938, Madeline was united in marriage to Kilmer Sondrol in Glenwood, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children. The couple made their home on various farms near Brooten and Sunburg, where Madeline was a loving homemaker. They shared 55 years of marriage before Kilmer passed away in February of 1994.
Madeline was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, watching the birds, flowers and her many animals. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Marshall (Lanita) Sondrol of Glenwood, MN, Betty (Doug) Albeck of Mound, MN, and Dennis (Debbie) Sondrol of rural Brooten, MN; 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Madeline is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kilmer; son, Roger; grandson, Mark; 2 brothers, and 6 sisters. | THOMPSON, Madeline Eleanor (I13930)
