13732 LaVaughn C. "Vonnie" Bagge, 68, Edmonds, Wash., formerly of Adams, diedTuesday, Oct. 27, 1998.

LaVaughn Carol Olson was born Feb. 24, 1930, the daughter of Nels and Amelia Olson, in Adams. She married John Bagge on May 26, 1949. They farmed until 1969, when they retired and moved to Edmonds.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Roxanna (Arnie) Voight, Debra Bagge-Perez, and Jill (Tony) Hanson; a son, John (Jamie); five grandchildren; and sisters, Gladis, Edna, Alice, Eunice and Melva.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Silas, Harold, Raymond and Neil.

13733 LaVaughn Revier, 84, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away January 10, 2005. She was born on March 31, 1920 in Karlstad, Minnesota. LaVaughn is survived by her daughter, Susan J. Meland; sons, Lloyd L. Revier, Ray E. Revier, James T. Revier and David N. Revier; sister, Rachael Hayford; 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. 13734 LaVerle Mary VanDoren, 87, of Front Royal, Virginia, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Front Royal with President Bartlett presiding and conducted by Bishop Byron Hutchings. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 10:00-12:00pm at the church. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Ms. VanDoren was born July 14, 1926, in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of the late Elmer Albert Thereaux and Ida Geneva Hayes Thereaux. She was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a volunteer for the Warren County Government Center.

Surviving are seven children Sherrie Wegner of Graham, WA, Darlene Lessard of Front Royal, Nancy Lee Stover of Munford, TN, Danny Ray VanDoren of Linden, Christine LoRae Ortiz of Thurmont, MD, Theresa Dawn Riker of Front Royal, and John David VanDoren of Front Royal; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Charlene Marie Steiner. 
THEREAUX, LaVerle Mary (I35981)
 
13735 LaVern M. Thompson, 83, of Westby, passed away peacefully March 14, 2014, with his family by his side.

He was born Jan. 29, 1931, to Helmer and Alma (Mikkelson) Thompson.

He graduated from Viroqua High School in 1949. He then joined the Air Force, where he was with the 35th Air Police Squadron serving in Korea. He was very proud to serve his country. On Dec. 11, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joanne Holte. He drove semi for Schneider Transport out of Green Bay and Schiatal Trucking in Sparta. He also worked as a security officer for American Motors in Kenosha from 1963-1971. He was a member of Syverson-Funk American Legion Post 155 and a lifetime member of Westby VFW Post 8021, where he was a past commander.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne, of 59 years; four children, Kathleen Turben of Westby, Robert (Debra) Thompson of Wausau, Patricia (Don) Furrer of Wisconsin Rapids and Janice (Brian) Turben of Viroqua; one grandson, Cory Turben; six granddaughters, Heather Schimenti, Nichole (Brian) Ashbeck, Tina (Leo) Diaz, Randi Furrer, Sara (Josh) Keenan and Jillian Pagel; three step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elida (Charles) Anderson of Westby; sisters-in-law, Anita Thompson and Rachel Iverson; brother-in-law, Verdell (Pat) Holte; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harlan and Albert Thomas.

Lavern spent his last day doing something he enjoyed with the person he loved the most. He will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather... always with a smile.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Wollman officiated. Burial with military honors followed in Coon Prairie Cemetery.

13736 Laverne A. Severson, age 85, of Monroe, died on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his daughter’s home. He was born on July 5, 1935 in rural Argyle, the son of Marvin and Edna (Winden) Severson. He attended Argyle schools. Laverne married Donna J. Marty on January 30, 1971 in Monroe. Laverne worked at Moore Business Forms for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Church of God International, National Turkey Federation; he enjoyed turkey hunting, collecting toy tractors and cap guns.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of Monroe; children: Michael (Kelly) Severson and Michelle (Brian) Senn, both of Monroe; grandchildren: Jared Harpstrite, Ally Severson, and Kara Jelle; sister, Diana Severson of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Virgil and Milfred; sisters: Janice Blum, Mary Lou Udelhoven, and Carol Jahn.

13737 Laverne E. Larson-Swanson, age 97, of Crosby, MN, and formerly of Cambridge, MN, passed away peacefully on Thurs, Sept 15, 2016, at Heartwoods Assisted Living in Crosby. Laverne was preceded in death by her husbands: Rodney Swanson and Marvin Larson. Survived by her daughters: Deanna (Archie, Jr.) Olson of Brainerd, MN, and Karen Mattson of International Falls, MN; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother: Blaine (Phyllis) Wallin of Day, MN; and sisters: Joyce (Don) Tessmer of Princeton, MN, Norma (Harvey) Ziebarth of Litchfield, MN. 13738 LaVerne Evelyn (Krueger) Wentland passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, AZ, on July 3, 2005, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 17, 1928, in Drake, ND, graduated from Enderlin High School in 1947, and has lived in Enderlin ND, and Moorhead MN. LaVerne married Robert Wentland on December 20, 1947, in Enderlin, ND.

LaVerne has 7 children, 19 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

13739 LaVerne Winston Sherry, 89, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at 11 p.m. at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.

He was born March 9, 1927, at home to Sidney and Ella (Wee) Sherry. He attended Star Valley Grade School and graduated from Soldiers Grove High School.

On Oct. 19, 1952, LaVerne married Aleda Nelson at the North Kickapoo Lutheran Church. They continued farming on the home farm where he was born. He always enjoyed farming, milking cows and raising crops. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Packers and the Badgers. He very much appreciated all the good neighbors he had throughout the years. In his younger days he liked to go deer hunting and snowmobiling. Later came the trips to Branson, Mo., to the Country Western music shows.

LaVerne is survived by his wife of 63 years, Aleda; daughter, Debra Rasmussen of Madison; two sons, Randy (Linda) Sherry of Readstown, and Lee (Carrie) Sherry of Viroqua. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Teresa (Charles) Dalton of Huxley, Iowa, April Sherry of La Crosse, Matthew Sherry of Soldiers Grove, and Hallie and Isabella Sherry, both of Viroqua; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Elliot Dalton; as well as one brother, Philip (Charlotte) Sherry; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Joanne Sherry all of Viroqua; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Jean Nelson both of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon (wife, Eunice), Carlyle and Elling Sherry; and one nephew, Arthur Sherry.

The family would like to extend their deepest “thank you’s” to the wonderful staff at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, for their excellent care and compassionate considerations during LaVerne’s stay there.

Funeral services for LaVerne will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Kickapoo United Lutheran Church. Pastor Chuck Miller will officiate with burial immediately after the service.

13740 LaVerne “Lue” Gene Nundahl, 65, of Richland Center passed away at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was born in Viroqua, WI, on February 25, 1960, the son of Donald and Janus (Johnson) Nundahl. He married Kimberly Kay Vig on July 28, 1979, at Lutheran Church in Readstown, WI. Lue will be remembered for playing outside for hours with his grandkids as well as Taylor and Alexis while blasting WRCO on his radio. He spent many years playing softball with his friends; many miles on his motorcycle; and watching Family Feud, The Price Is Right, and the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Nundahl; children, Garrett Nundahl, Ben (Mysti) Nundahl, Tennille Spears; mother, Janus Nundahl; 4 siblings, Lori (Kent) Walter, Lonnie (Thomas) Haas, Jodi Simonson, Debra Nundahl (Durrell Gaither); 7 grandchildren, Echoe, Chaynce, Kaylee, Owen, Aundrea, Delaney, Alexis; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Nundahl, and niece, Ashlee Nundahl.
