Melissa Bullis Hughes died early this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Erickson, following a paralytic stroke. The daughter of Samuel S and Lydia Crosby Bullis, she was born at Clarksville, Iowa…. When a small child, she moved with her parents to Minnesota. She married Henry Thomas Hughes June 2, 1887, at Rice Lake, Minnesota. The couple came to Corvallis in 1919. Mr. Hughes passed away in 1944. Mrs. Hughes is a member of the Baptist church. She is survived by 4 sons…, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
