In the ELCA records there is a Lars born on this date to Knut K Hermanstad and his wife Ambjør. The child was baptized on 26 Dec 1882 at Our Savior’s in Sacred Heart in Renville County. His sponsors were: Guunar and Martha Hehn, Ole Lo, and Guri Sveum or Sween.

In the 1910 census, he and his family live in Rhodes Voting Precinct, McLean County, North Dakota, the next farm up from Kari’s brother Ole and the next farm down from her parents on the census form. The couple is shown as having been married for four years. Lars is 27 (but born in Minnesota!), Carrie is 30. She has had 3 children, only the two still living. Those two are Lloyd, age 4, and Hazel, age 0.

In the 1920 census, he and his family live in McLean County. He still is shown as having been born in Minnesota. He’s a salesman of something.

In the 1925 state census, he and his family are still in McLean County. The family is Lars, 48, Carrie, 46, Lloyd, 19, Hazel, 15, Milford, 8, Mildred, 13, Walter, 6, Elenore, 12, and Blanche, 10.

In the 1930 census, he and his family live in Heaton Twp in McLean County. Lars is 47, Carrie is 50.

In the 1940 census, Lars lives with Milford and Walter in Heaton Twp, McLean County. Lars is a widower.

Darla Gilson has her incorrectly identified as the daughter of Knudt Iver Lockrem and Ragnild Hansdatter Stenbakken. That Kari was Kari Elizabeth Lockrem born 3 Dec 1872 {other sources say 1893} in Rice County, Minnesota. In 1895, she was 22 years old, unmarried and living with her parents and siblings in Lake Mills, Iowa.

In the 1880 census, he and Anna, with Knut, Carrie, and Christoffer, live in Granite Falls Twp, Chippewa County, Minnesota. They seem to be living with the Sivert Arness family.

In the 1900 census, he and Anne and their 7 children (Kari, Christoffer, Ole, Gurine, Ellen, Sophia, and Mabel) live in the town of Stoneham in Chippewa County, Minnesota. He owns his farm.

In the 1910 census, he and Annie and three of their children (Julia, Ella, and Christ) live in McLean County, North Dakota.

In the 1930 census, he and Anna lived in McLean County, North Dakota. They seem to have lived with or next to their son Christ Lockrem, 49.

Anne (daughter of Kari Hendriksdatter) was born on 15 Oct 1848 in Vang i Valdres, Oppland, Norway; died on 4 Jun 1932 in McLean County, North Dakota; was buried in Saint Olaf Cemetery, Turtle Lake, McLean County, North Dakota. She is probably the Anne who was born 15 Oct 1848 (bapt. 1 Jan 1849 in Vang) to the unmarried couple Ole Iversen somebody and Kari Hendriksdatter Einang of Slidre.

In the 1865 census, she was a tjenestepige, 18 years old, on the Ødegaarden 105d farm in Vang.

In the 1900 census, she had had 9 children, 7 still living. This was, apparently, anticipating Mabel not making it. Anne had come to the U.S. in 1874, her husband in 1873.

Those numbers are 9 and 6 in the 1910 census.
