Notes:

In the 1916 Canadian census, he was a farmer in Last Mountain Dsitrict, Saskatchewan, Canada. He arrived in Canada in 1911, Inga in 1912 (after first, apparently, having Tabitha in the U.S.) and their oldest four children in 1912.

In 1915, the family crossed into the U.S., headed toward Elgin where they were to be welcomed by Marie Tollefsen. Ruth, Svarre, and Gunner were listed. Tabitha may not have been listed because she was already a U.S. citizen, and/or she was already in Elgin. Joseph should have been listed but wasn’t. For Peder, his nearest relative in the country from which he came was his brother Karl in Sondefjord, Norway. Those crossing were claimed to have arrived in the port of N.Y. in May of 1908. Peder was born in Aamot. Inga was born in Skatselem (sp?) {Skotselv}

Although other sources refer to him as “Rev.”, in the 1920 census, he was a painter for a watch face company. He and his family lived in Elgin, Illinois. He and his wife and, apparently, at least four of their children came to the U.S. in 1915, after first spending time in Canada, and, apparently, spending time in the U.S. before that.

One of her baptisms was a home baptism. We don’t know why both were performed so late.

Her obit said that she was of 3071 W. 2nd Avenue in Vancouver. She was survived by 5 sons, Gunner of New Westminster, John of Surrey, George of Burnaby, and Maurice and Paul of Vancouver. She was also survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. H. McVety of White Rock, Mrs. J. Tredal of Saskatoon, and Mrs. N. Lonquist and Mrs. A Scott of Vancouver. She was survived by 43 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

In the 1865 census, he was the owner of the Kjærnsli 219a farm in Hole. His daughter Henrike was already living apart from her parents at the time of that census.
