His draft registration (12 Sep 1918 in Two Rivers) gave his birth date as 9 Nov 1885. The 1900 census had his birth date as November of 1884 because it showed him as 15 years old.

A different George and Emma funded the George A. and Emma J. Torrison Medical Scholarship, administered through the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. George A. a Chicago physician, died in 1936. His wife died in 1961 at the age of 95. That couple were the parents of Martha and Agnes.
