Frå Brekke i Strøm, Vestfold. Came to the U.S. in 1853.

In the 1880 census, as O. G. Brekke, he and his family lived in the village of Clinton in Dane County, Wisconsin, where he was a druggist.

In the 1900 census, he and Andrea lived in Buchanan Twp, Stutsman County, North Dakota. Olaf was a farmer. The household consisted of Olaf and Andrea plus Henry Mathers, 28, servant, who was also a stationary engineer, and Frank Jennings, 22, a transient farm laborer.

In the 1910 census, he and Andrea and Mabel lived in South Troy Precinct, Latah County, Idaho, where Olaf operated a fruit farm.
