    Funeral services for Andrew Rudy of Forest township will be held at the Bierman Mortuary in Northfield at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, June 16, and at 3:00 o'clock at the Trondjem church. Interment will be made in the cemetery there. Mr. Rudy passed away on Thursday, June 12, at the age of 67 years having been born in Norway on September 6, 1873. Coming to the United States while quite young, Mr. Rudy had lived in Webster and Forest townships for many years where he was engaged in farming. His wife had preceded him in death. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Demann (Florence) of the Dundas community and a brother and two sisters, Knute Rudy of Northfield, route 3, and Mrs. Mary Camp of Northfield and Mrs. Anna Clark of Everett, Wash.

    According to the 1900 census, he and his family came to the U.S. in 1878.

    In the 1880 census, he was Gullick Anfinson. He and his family lived in Glenwood Twp, Winneshiek County, Iowa.

    In the 1885 Minnesota census, he was Gullick A. Rude. He and his family lived in Webster Twp, Rice County. Annie (called Annie Gullickson) is still alive. Jørgen is not listed with the rest of the family.

    In the 1895 Minnesota census, he was Gullik Rudi. He and his family lived in Webster Twp. A daughter “Anbjur”, age 18, appears for the first time but she is probably George’s wife (#20839). Other children living at home with Gullk and Ingeborg in this census were Jurgen, Anders, and Knut.

    Called Gullick A. Ruddy in the 1900 census. Living with him and Bell are their three sons George, Andrew, and Knute. Living with them or next door (the next line on the census) is their daughter Mary’s family. A servant Bell Ellingboe, age 26 (b. Oct 1873), “servent”, lives with the Camps.

    In the 1910 census, he and Ingeborg live with their son Andrew and his family in Webster Twp. Odessa and Mary are a few lines down on the census form.

    In the 1900 census, he and his family lived in Forest Twp, Rice County, Minnesota. He was shown as born in Norway in November of 1840 and his wife Rande was shown as born in Norway in March of 1856. The couple had been married for 27 years. She had had 10 children, nine still living. He had come to the U.S. in 1870, she in 1861.

    In the 1910 census, he is still in Forest Twp. His wife is Rosa, age 53. She was Eric’s 2nd wife. Rosa and Eric had been married for twenty-something years. She had had nine children, 7 still living.

    She may be the Randi Persdatter Kvåle, I8536, in Jim’s VS. Jim shows her as b. 1857 on Kvåle. That Randi’s parents were Per Jonsen Kvåle (b. 1820) and Gunhild Endresdatter Kattevold (b. 1828).

    In the church book, that Randi Kvåle was Randi, b. 17 Mar 1857, bapt. 12 April. Her parents were Peder Johnsen Bøeejet and Gunhild Endresdatter.

    ROSIE (Kvale) LOCKREM Spouse Erick Lockrem Mrs Rose Lockrem, widow of the late Erick Lockrem, died suddenly Thursday afternoon, March 27, following a heart attack. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs Severt Estrem, with whom she has made her home for the past few years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of another daughter, Mrs Anna Edwards on North Division street. The Rev L P Qualben conducted the service. On Monday a short service was held at the home of son, Peter Lockrem at Little Chicago conducted by the Rev L B Sundal. Burial was made in the Trondjem cemetery. The pallbearers were five sons, Gust, Andrew, Peter, Nels and Ole Lockrem, and one nephew Anton Lockrem. Rose Qualle was born in Valdrish, Norway, March 15, 1850. When she was a child four years of age her parents brought her to the United States and the family settled on a farm in Wisconsin where Rose grew to young womanhood. Here she was married to Erick Lockrem in 1868 and they came to the Little Chicago community where they made their home for many years. In 1894 they purchased the farm which continued to be Mrs Lockrems home until she moved to Northfield in 1924 to live with her daughter. Mr Lockrem died in 1916. Mrs Lockrem is survived by nine children, two brothers and one sister. The children are Nels and Ole Lockrem, Minneapolis; Mrs Thomas Weflan, Granite Falls; Mrs Ole Flannes, Iron Mountain, Mich; Gust, Andrew and Peter, Northfield community, and Mrs Anna Edwards and Mrs Sever Estrem of this city. Besides her immediate family, Mrs Lockrem is survived by twenty-nine grandchildren. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Nels and Ole Lockrem of Minneapolis; Mrs Ole Flannes and children of Granite Falls and Gerhard Weflan of Granite Falls. Two brothers and a sister who live in Canada were not able to be present at the funeral. Faribault News (March 11, 1929)

    He is Arnfinn Olsen Bakken, I41248, in Jim’s VS.

    Jim’s VS notes:

    He lived in different places in Vang before he settled in Ljøsno under Tveit around 1860. Frøholm writes that he had built a cabin on Slettefjell where he tended sheep in the fall. He broke into Mugnadstølen and stole butter.

    A poem was composed about him: "Han Anfinn og han Ola i Bakka efter Tjuve-bruna lokka" He was divorced around 1845. After that he lived with Guri Sjugurdsdtr Remmisbrekkun and had five children with her.

    In 1864 he traveled to America with his son Torstein, the documents also state that the eldest son Ola was involved, but in the census in 1865 he is listed with his grandfather.

    It is possible that he joined his mother, who traveled in 1865 with his daughters and youngest son. When Guri left, their house burned down. It was called "Hell" and people then said that when "Fa'n" raised fire Hell. (After Frøholm).

    Anfinn was later married and divorced and had a son Ola in 1853 with Guri Sjugurdsdatter Remmisbrekka. Ola was also with his grandfather in the 1865 census. After a time he was in Ljøsne in Tveidt.
