The 28 Jan 1946 edition of the Star includes the notice of a marriage license application by John Jordan, Jr., of Kansas City and Ethel I. Bergman, 69 Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul.

Her obit was in the Kansas City Times on 31 Jul 1976.

She had lived in the Kansas City area for 22 years. She was a Lutheran and a member of the Blue Springs Rebekah Lodge. Surviving her were her husband, five sons, and two unmarried daughters.

In the 1920 census, he is probably the Conrad Bergman who is a farm laborer on the Chris Peterson farm in Richfield. That Conrad is 23 years old and was born in Minnesota to parents who were born in Sweden.

In the 1930 census, he is a patient at the Veterans’ Hospital at Fort Snelling.

In the 1940 census, he is still a patient (”inmate”) at the Minnesota State Soldiers Home in Minneapolis. He is shown as divorced.

Conrad married Marie F KORNDER on 19 Mar 1923 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and was divorced in Jun 1937 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Marie (daughter of George KORNDER and Emma MUELLAR) was born on 1 Dec 1905 in Minnesota; died on 7 Jan 1984 in Ramsey County, Minnesota; was buried in Bloomington Cemetery, Hennepin County, Minnesota. In the 1930 census, she is Marie Bergman, age 24 and married, living with her parents and three children at her parents’ farm in east Bloomington.

In the 1940 census, she and her three children still live with her parents in Bloomington. She is shown as divorced.

Her obit was in the Tribune on 9 Jan 1984. She was survived by her two sons and preceded in death by her daughter Ethel I Jordan. She had 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. One brother, Herb, outlived her.

In the 1940 census, he was shown as George Kornder, 76. He lived in Bloomington with his wife Emma, 67, born in Iowa, and their son Herbert and daughter Marie Bergman and her sons John and Eugene and daughter Ethel.
