He is living at home with his parents and sisters in the 1910 census.

He is living in Deephaven with his uncle and his widowed mother in the 1920 census. He is a mechanic for a tractor company.

In the 1930 census, he and his family lived in Hopkins. He was an automobile salesman. His household consisted of Arthur, 39, Irene F, 35, Saralou, 5, Robert G, 3 and some months, and Minnie Lou DeValle, mother-in-law. Arthur was a veteran of the World War. (The Fort Snelling grave information shows that he was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.)

According to his death certificate, he was a salesman of oil and grease. He resided at 9 7th Avenue S. He died of heart failure and pneumonia.

Arthur married Irene Florence MURPHY on 27 Aug 1923 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Irene was born on 2 Oct 1895 in Minnesota; died on 11 Jun 1957 in Hennepin County, Minnesota; was buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

In the 1895 Minnesota census, he and Carrie and their three children lived in Minnetonka Beach Twp in Hennepin County. He had been a resident of the state and of the local area for 17 years.

Came to this country in 1874 and was a naturalized citizen at the time of the 1900 census. According to that census, Elias owned his farm in Minnetonka Twp but with a mortgage.

He died from complications of an enlarged prostate. The informant for his death certificate was H. L. Grey of Excelsior.

Elias married Carrie SWANSON about 1882. Carrie (daughter of SWANSON and Elsie) was born in May 1854 in Sweden. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Called Cary Johnson in the death certificates of a couple of her children.

Came to this country in 1879 and was not a naturalized citizen at the time of the 1900 census. According to that census, she had borne 4 children, 3 still living.

The same 4 born, 3 living entry is in the 1910 census.

She was a 65 year-old widow living with her son and brother-in-law in Deephaven in the 1920 census. The household listed above hers on the census form was her daughter’s and son-in-law’s, Albert and Eleanor Borgerson.
