As Albert Borgerson, he was a 48 year-old farm laborer living with his wife and three children in Deephaven in the 1920 census. He had come to the U.S. in 1890. His widowed mother-in-law and her son were the next household listed on that census form.

Albert died from drowning. At the time of his death, he was the gardener for the Walter Douglas estate.
