    He registered for the draft in Bottineau, North Dakota, on 10 Sept 1918. He was a student and gave his nearest relative as A O Williams, father. He was of medium height with a slim build, blue eyes, and light hair.

    Longtime Bottineau Pharmacist, Dies

    Funeral services for Fernann "Ferd" Williams, 72, were in the First Presbyterian Church of Bottineau on Monday, Jan. 3rd at 2:00 P.M. The Reverend Everett Owens Officiated. The Ladies Sextet sang and Mrs. Elaine Freeman was the organist. Casket bearers were C. N. Nelson, Willard dempsey, Gordon Wettlaufer, Robert Page, Jack LaSalle, and Harlan Renick. Interment will be in the Oak Creek Cemetery at Bottineau.

    Ferd Williams, a son of Mr and Mrs. Andrew Williams was born at Mandan, N. Dak. on Nov. 3, 1899. His boyhood was spent in Fargo, then in 1910, the family came to Bottineau. He received his Pharmacy Degree from the N.D. State University in 1923 and continued in the family Drug business in Bottineau until retiring in 1967.

    On July 10, 1929, he was married to Esther Johns at Velva, N. Dak. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the first Presbyterian Church in Bottineau.

    Ferd was known for his interest in hunting, fishing, and other sports.

    He passed away in the Bottineau Hospital on Thursday evening, Dec. 30th, after a long illness.

    Surviving are his wife, Esther at home; three sons, Barrett and Rodney both in Washington, D.C., and David in New York City; five grandchildren; and a brother, Irwin of Tulsa, Okla.

    H. B. Kennedy Dies Sunday

    Hugh B. Kennedy, 74, retired Mandan resturant operator, died Sunday night at a Mandan hospital, where he had been a patient for the past six days.

    Born July 1, 1867, at Wabasha, Minn., to Mr and Mrs. Owen Kennedy, he came to Mandan in 1881 and has made his home here since that time.

    Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.

    Survivors include three brothers, J. A. of Billings, Mont., H. O. at Helena, Mont., and P. J. at Kentfield, Calif., and a nephew M. J. Tobin of Mandan.

    Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from St Joseph's Catholic church. The body will lie in state at the Kennelly Funeral chapel until the hour of the funeral.

    Hugh married Hermina Helmig about 1898, and was divorced. Hermina was born on 21 Jul 1880 in Germany; died on 3 Mar 1938 in Bottineau County, North Dakota; was buried in Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau, Bottineau County, North Dakota. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
