    Wayne Allen Sha, age 61, of The Colony, TX passed away on April 11, 2011 in The Colony surrounded by his family. He was born on November 26, 1949 in Breckenridge, MN to Lester and Della (Fudere) Sha.

    Wayne served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He married Linda Timmerman on June 11, 1977 in Rolla, ND. Wayne worked as a Production & Inventory Control Manager at Wil-Rich, Wahpeton, ND (1973-1986) and as a Planner/Scheduler and in Customer Service with International Paper, Carrollton, TX (1986-2011).

    He is survived by his wife, Linda Sha of The Colony, TX; daughters, Amy Kalb and husband, Jason of Little Elm, TX; Lindsey Gerber and husband, Paul of Carrollton, Tx; his grandson, Cooper Sha Kalb (to arrive in June); brothers, Dennis Sha and Wife, Linda of Denton, TX; nieces, Kristin Boyd of Carrollton, Tx; Kim Wissen of Austin, Texas; special aunt, Marian Ellingson of Fargo, ND and Linda's family who looked on Wayne as "one of their own."

    He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Della Sha and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

    Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrollton, TX. Interment followed at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco, TX.

    Lester Xavier Sha, 87, Denton, formerly Breckenridge, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in Denton Senior Care Center.

    Mr. Sha was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Fergus Falls, Minn. He moved with his parents to Valley City, N.D., where he grew up. In 1935, he moved to a farm near Foxhome, Minn. In 1941, he joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Following his military discharge, he moved to Breckenridge. On Aug. 21, 1946, he married Della Fuder. They lived in Breckenridge, where he worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1973, they moved to Fergus Falls, where he continue to work for the MnDOT. He retired in 1979. In 1983, they moved back to Breckenridge. She died in 1985. In 1998, he moved to Denton.

    He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Linda), Denton, Wayne (Linda), The Colony, Texas; a brother, Tom, Rodeo, Calif.; a sister, Marian Ellingson, Fargo; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

    Visitation: Today from 5 to 7 in Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.

    Funeral: Wednesday at 10 in the funeral home.

    Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls.

    In the 1900 Norwegian census, he was Karl Olsen, Murerarbeider (mason), living with his family in Hamar in an 8-flat apartment on Lille Strandgade 29 street. The family consisted of Karl, b. 1867, Julie Berthine Olsen, b. 1870, Anna Margrethe Olsen, b. 1891, Olga Bergliot Olsen, b. 1893, Jenny Konstanse Olsen, b. 1896, and Thorvald Marius Olsen, b. 29 Apr 1899. Everyone in the family had been born in Hamar except for Julie Berthine who was born in Elverum.

    In the 1910 census, he and his family were living on a rented farm in Trondhjem Twp, Otter Tail County. Carl apparently came to the U. S. in 1907 and the rest of his family followed in 1908.

    In the 1920 census, he and his family were living in the city of Fergus Falls on Laurel Avenue. His three oldest daughters were not listed with the family.

    Her birth record in the Elverum church book has the number 4 after her name which may mean that she was her parents’ fourth child. Olga’s birth record cites her (Olga’s) mother as Julie Christiansdatter.

    She arrived in New York with her children on October 29, 1908, aboard the S.S. Adriatic which had sailed from Liverpool on October 21st. The family name was shown as Olsen on the ship’s manifest. She is shown as Julia Bertine, age 38, of Hamar. Her closest relative back in Norway is her father Ole Christiansen of Oksns Station, Osterdalen. She and her family are bound for Rothsay, Minnesota.

    In the 1910 census, she is shown as having had 8 children, all still living.

    Her maiden name is inconsistent in her children’s birth certificates. For Agnes, it is Christofferson. For Woodrow, it is Johnson. It is Christianson on Anna’s death certificate. It is Kristiansen in Anna’s confirmation record in the Hamar church book.

    According to her death certificate, she was a widow living in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota. She died of liver cancer.
