Someone named Ellingboe married Kenneth E Schuman Jr. on 2 March 1973 in St. Croix County, Wisconsin. She divorced him again in Larimer County, Colorado, on 8 Sep 1976. Patricia A Schuman married Kenneth E Schuman again on 17 April 1980 in Hennepin County.

She was listed as Patricia Schuman, daughter, in the obit of her mother.

She lived in Arkansas at the time of the death of her daughter Margo in 2013.

In the 1927 Willmar city directory, he is Irving B Ellingboe, laborer for Western F Exp Co, residing with his parents at 202 Anthony.

In the 1930 census, he was a farm laborer on the Robert Young farm in Twelve Mile Twp, Williams County, North Dakota.

In the 1940 census, he was a farmer on a rented farm in Kerkhoven Twp. He had an 8th grade education, Hazel had had one year of high school.

In the 1948 Minneapolis city directory, he and Hazel lived at 207 W 28th Street. Ervin was a laborer for Williams Hardware.

In the 1950 census, he and his family lived in Minneapolis. He worked intermittently as a laborer in construction. Hazel worked as a salad girl in a restaurant.

His obit in the Star said that he had been a compressor operator with Twin City Sandblast.

Ervin married Hazel Alice Pauline PEDERSON on 30 May 1936 in Swift County, Minnesota. Hazel was born on 28 Mar 1912 in Benson, Swift County, Minnesota; died on 30 Aug 2013 in Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota; was buried in Clover Leaf Cemetery, Willmar, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. He registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, in Benson. He was a farmer in Benson. He gave his nearest relative as Minnie Elllingboe of Benson.

He was a farmer living at Route 3, Murdock, at the time of Ervin’s birth.

In the 1927 Willmar city directory, he is Martin E Ellingboe, helper for the Great Northern Railway, living at 202 Anthony.

In the 1929 directory, he is still a helper for the Great Northern. He and Minnie live at 919 2nd E.

In the 1930 census, he and his family lived in Willmar where he was a laborer in a steam railroad shop.

In the 1932 Willmar city directory, he is Martin Ellingboe, wife Minnie, living at 919 2nd E. He is a helper for the Great Northern Railway.

In the 1940 census, Martin, Minnie, and Marvin lived in Willmar in the same house that they had lived in five years earlier. Martin is a helper at the Great Northern roundhouse. He has an eighth-grade education, Minnie a 5th grade education.

In the 1950 census, he and Minnie live in Minneapolis. Neither has an occupation.

He was one of the two “best men” for Ove Ellingboe (#3231) in his wedding to Betsey in 1874.

In the 1875 Norwegian census, he and his wife and daughter lived on Pladsen with his father, mother, and uncle.

Farming in Kerkhoven Twp, Swift County, at the time of the 1880 and 1900 censuses. Came to this country with his wife (and daughter) in 1876.

Even is listed in the Vang out-migration records as departing for America in 1876. Even and Berith are shown as arriving in New York on May 22, 1876, aboard the S.S. Idaho from Liverpool and Queenstown. Daughter Anna is not listed on the manifest.

Of Ellingbö according to his marriage entry in the parish record and according to the entry for Anne’s birth.

Land records show that the Benson land office issued Even a 160 acre homestead on 10 Sep 1883. The land description was:

In the 1910 census, he is a farmer in Kerkhoven Twp. The household consists of Even G., 70, Beret, 61, George, 32, Olaf, 29, and Theodore, 20. George is a carpenter, the other two boys are farm laborers.

An article in the August 16th edition of the Willmar newspaper calls him Evan E Ellingboe, “about 75,” and one of the earliest settlers of the county.
