    • Leo was a 22 year old railroad worker, still single, living as a roomer in Breckinridge, Wilkin County, MN, at the time of the 1910 census.

      He registered for the draft on June 5, 1917, as Leo Vincent Fautch in Stevens County, Washington. He was married with a child and living in Marcus, Washington, where he was employed as a clerk for the Great Northern Railway Company in Marcus. He was described as of medium height and build with grey eyes and brown hair. He claimed to have had some military experience due to one year at a military college.

      He is called Leonard V. on his children’s birth records.

      In the 1920 census, he is Leo Fautch (indexed as Foutch), 31, living with his family in Spokane, Washington, where Leo is a chief clerk for the railroad.

      He registered for the World War II draft in 1942. At that time, he lived at 821 S Perry in Spokane. He was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. He gave as the “person who will always know your address” Herman Fullner of Spokane.

      In the 1930 census, as Leo B Fouch, he and his family live in Spokane. Leo is a clerical worker for a railroad. He was not a veteran. Seven nuns, who teach in a “private school”, live four houses away.

      In the 1940 census, he was Leo V Fautch, an accountant for a railroad. He and his family lived in Spokane. Their older daughter is no longer at home.

      His obit said that he was a retired Great Northern Railroad employee.
