The household consisted of Anton, 48, Esther L., 29, Audrey E., 5, Mavis J., 2, Earl J., 1, and Chas F. (?), 65. The “Chas.” was foreign-born. In the 1930 census, he and his family lived in Ecklund Twp, Burleigh County, North Dakota. He was a coal miner and had come to the U.S. in 1882. In the 1940 census, in which he was horrendously mis-indexed as Antoine Elverson, he and his family lived on the “south side” of Devils Lake, North Dakota. No one in the household had an occupation.
