Notes |
- He was child #2, no name on his birth certificate.
Edmund W. in the SSDI. His Social Security number was issued in Minnesota.
This is the same birthday as #10775. Unlikely as it seems, two Edmund Ellingboes did indeed have exactly the same birthday.
Edmund W Ellingboe and Margaret B Thompson married in King County on 25 Dec 1941.
Called Edwin in the 1920 census.
In the 1930 census, he was the 18 year-old step-son of Christensen A and Magda Anderson of Fresno, California.
He may be the Edmund Ellingboe, driver for Bernt Eidsmo, in the 1933 St. Paul city directory. He lived at 1374 Raymond Ave. That Edmund still is a driver for Eidsmo in the 1936 Minneapolis directory but he lives in St. Paul.
He, or (less likely) the Edmund of #10775, is the subject of this newspaper article from the Saturday, September 4, 1937, edition of the Brainerd Daily Dispatch:
“Edmund Ellingboe, of South Minneapolis, driver of one of the cars involved in a highway crash which yesterday resulted in the death of Theodore Berg, 23, of Brainerd, today faces a charge of “criminal negligence in the operation of vehicle resulting in the death of a human being.” The warrant was issued yesterday from the office of County Attorney F E Ebner and was served upon Ellingboe at St. Joseph’s hospital.
“Hearing upon the charge will be delayed, possibly for several weeks, as Ellingboe is confined to the hospital with a compound fracture of the hip, an injury received in the crash which caused Berg’s death.
“Others injured in the accident were Ernest Rausch, of Brainerd, driver of the car in which Berg was riding and Carl Layman, of St. Paul, a passenger in Ellingboe’s car.”
According to another article, the head-on crash occurred on U.S. 371 about 3 miles south of Brainerd early Wednesday morning. Berg died of his injuries on Friday.
Edmund and Margaret lived at 2562 Lumni View Dr in Bellingham in 1982 and 1986 and at 7054 Old Guide Rd in Lynden, Washington, in 1989.
Not in the 1940 census.
In the 1950 census, he and Margaret and their three children lived in Palatine in King County, Washington. He was a house painter.
His obit said that he purchase property at Gooseberry Point in 1955 but he resided mostly in New Halem from 1951 until he retired in 1973. He worked as a painter for Seattle City Light.
