Arthur and Gertrude Hendrickson wedding
Arthur and Gertrude Hendrickson wedding
The sepia-toned rectangular original is mounted in a greyish-brown folder from Rosaas Studio - Duluth. On the back, in Cora's handwriting: "My Cousins Art Hendrickson groom Also my Cousins Marion & Gertie Anderson's and their friend."

Arthur is about 19, Gertie about 17. If the woman on the right is Gertie's sister Marion, she would be about 22 or 23. The woman on the right looks older than that and may be Gertie's mother. In that case, the fellow on the left may be Ole Jr.

How did they meet? Because Gertie's mother was a Nordrum (from LaCrosse), and there were also Nordrums in the Viroqua area, it is possible that matchmaker Martha was aware of Gertie, even apart from the connection through Cora and Cora's father.

Arthur Hendrickson and his half-brother Georgie Hendrickson
Probably from about 1909 or 1910 when Arthur would have been 1 or 2 and Georgie 11 or 12. The original is a postcard addressed to Cora Anderson in Viroqua Wis. The message is "Tell mama thank you for the two chickens. I aught to write to you but please excuse me I have to much to do Auntie."
Date: about 1909 or 1910
Place: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Arthur Hendrickson, about 2 years old
Arthur Hendrickson, about 2 years old
Probably taken in about 1910 when Arthur was 2. The location is the front of the Hendrickson house in Minneapolis. The original is postcard addressed to Cora Anderson, Viroqua, but apparently sent in a separate envelope. The message, in pencil: "Tell Auntie Susan I send one to Clara for I can not share more than one at each house." Another sentence that is hard to read suggests that either this was to be sent on to "Louises" or else that she had sent one to Louise.
Date: about 1910
Place: Minneapolis, Minnesota
